
TCU Cruises to Tournament-Opening Win

Frogs will face Bucknell Sunday at 9 p.m. CT
HONOLULU – TCU forced Charlotte into 21 turnovers and never trailed in an 82-57 win over the 49ers Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Diamond Head Classic.
The Horned Frogs (9-1) scored 36 points off turnovers and took care of the ball themselves with a season-low eight turnovers.
Sophomore Kouat Noi led TCU with 15 points and was 3-of-7 from 3-point range. Junior Jaylen Fisher scored 14 points and Desmond Bane rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.
Senior Alex Robinson, who entered the game ranked second in the nation in assists per game at 8.6, finished with 11, which tied the tournament record. Robinson also went over 500 career assists in the game to become just the third Horned Frog to go achieve the 500 assist milestone.

TCU will face Bucknell (5-5) in the semifinals on Sunday at 9 p.m. CT/5 p.m. HT on ESPN2. Bucknell defeated Rhode Island in its opener, 84-82. It will be the first-ever meeting between the Frogs and Bison.

- Robinson recorded 11 assists to tie the Diamond Head Classic record. Ike Iroegbu of Washington State had 11 assists against New Mexico in 2015.
- At 506 career assists, Robinson is closing in on Prince Fowler's 514 for No. 2 all-time at TCU. Corey Santee remains on top at 575.
- Bane scored 10 points and has scored in double figures in 34 of his last 43 games.
- Fisher was 3-of-8 from 3-point range. His streak of five straight games of at least four made 3-pointers came to an end. He scored in double figure in his last six games.
- Fisher entered the game having not attempted a free throw. He finished 5-for-5 from the line.
- Noi was 2-of-3 from 3-point range. He has hit at least one 3-pointer in 10 straight games and in 24 of his last 25.
