TCU has yet to allow a goal this season
FORT WORTH – TCU soccer continues its season-opening five-match homestand Thursday night when it hosts Stephen F. Austin. Game time against the Lady Jacks is set for 7 p.m. on FSSW.
TCU NOTABLES
• TCU opened the season 2-0 for the third straight season and the seventh time in program history.
• TCU is one of 27 programs to record two shutouts on opening weekend. It marks the second straight season TCU has tallied two shutouts in the opening weekend.
• Yazmeen Ryan tallied her third career game-winning goal on Sunday, while Kayla Hill notched her fourth career game-winning goal on Friday.
• Katie Lund registered 1.5 shutouts over the weekend. She now has 11.5 in her career to move her into a third all-time.
• For the second time in their careers, Emily Alvarado and Lund combined to shutout an opponent. The duo combined on a four-save shutout on Sunday.
STEPHEN F. AUSTIN NOTABLES
• The Lady Jacks went 1-1 on opening weekend, registering a 1-0 victory over LSU Shreveport before dropping a 3-0 decision to Mississippi State.
• Katelyn Termini scored the lone goal of the season for Stephen F. Austin.
• Maddie Talbot and Allyson Halliday combined on the shutout, while Halliday played all 90 minutes against the Bulldogs.
SERIES NOTABLES
• Thursday's meeting against SFA will the 10th in series history. TCU holds a 7-2 series advantage.
• TCU is 4-1 all-time against SFA in Fort Worth.
• TCU and SFA renewed the series last season when the Horned Frogs travelled to Nacogdoches where they won 4-0 on Sept. 17.
• SFA's last trip to Fort Worth saw it come away with a 2-0 win on Oct. 26, 2012.
FRESH FACES
TCU welcomed six newcomers this fall. All six saw their first collegiate action during the first weekend of play.
Chaylyn Hubbard, Messiah Bright and Payton Crews started both games, while Brandi Peterson earned the start in Sunday's contest. Maddy Warren saw action in both games in a reserve roll, while Tatum Condrey made her debut on Sunday.
STINGY FROGS
TCU allowed no more than two goals in a game in 2017. The Frogs held opponents to one or no goals in 17 of the 22 games played. The Frogs have picked up where they left off recording two shutouts in the first two games of the season.
Being stingy has been a trait of the TCU team since Eric Bell arrived. The Frogs have allowed two or fewer goals in 47 of the last 49 games played dating back to 2015.
The Frogs have surrendered three or more goals just 12 times in 123 games.
CORNER TO CORNER
A year after ranking sixth nationally in corner kicks, TCU has picked up right where it left off. The Horned Frogs generated 22 corner kicks over the weekend, ranking first by a large margin in the Big 12.
CLEAN SHEET
For the second straight season, TCU opened the year with back-to-back shutouts.
Last season, TCU posted eight clean sheets to tie a school-record. It was previously done in four different seasons (1998, 2012, 2015 and 2016).
Since Eric Bell came to TCU in 2012, the Frogs have notched 45 shutouts.
