Three freshmen score in the victory
FORT WORTH – A trio of freshman scored their first goal in guiding TCU to a 4-0 victory over Stephen F. Austin Thursday night at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. For the second time in three years, the Horned Frogs are 3-0 to start the season.
The Rundown
TCU wasted little time getting on the board, striking just over a minute into the game. Chaylyn Hubbard streaked down the sideline and set a perfect cross right to Messiah Bright, whose header put the Frogs on top 1-0.
The Frogs kept on the attack, pumping 12 shots toward goal, but they couldn't add to their lead as they carried a 1-0 advantage into halftime. Emily Alvarado made two of her three stops in the half.
Similar to the start of the game, TCU struck early in the second half to push the lead to 2-0. After a scramble inside the six-yard box, Payton Crews was able to get the ball to the feet of Maddy Warren. Her first shot was turned aside, but she collected her own rebound and fired it over the keeper's head.
Just over 10 minutes later, hard work by Tijana Djuricek made it a 3-0 game. A corner kick found its way into the six-yard box. A clearing attempt failed and Karitas Tomasdottir found an open Djuricek for the goal.
Tatum Condrey capped the scoring in the 81stminute on a great feed from Warren on a breakaway.

Quotes of the Game
Head Coach Eric Bell
On the freshmen:
"This recruiting class is very talented, probably one of the best we've ever had. They are starting to get used to the playing level of college soccer, with the physicality, the speed of play and the demands that we have in regards to paying attention to detail. They are figuring it out faster than I thought they would and that's allowing us to progress in a fashion to play beautiful soccer like we did tonight."
On finishing off goals:
"I thougth it was very good tonight. We created a lot of chances. Their goalkeeper made some good saves, but to finish some of those in the second half was good."
