Frogs head to Waco with first place in the Big 12 standings on the line
FORT WORTH – For the second straight year, the race for the Big 12 title is coming down to TCU and Baylor, and the regional rivals begin the final push for the regular season championship on Thursday.
The 17th-ranked Horned Frogs are set to challenge No. 12 Baylor at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Waco at Foster Pavilion in a game that will air on ESPN+.
TCU (21-4, 9-3 Big 12) and Baylor (21-4, 10-2 Big 12) will play twice over the final 17 days of the regular season. The Bears return the trip to Fort Worth on March 1 for the final game of the regular season.
Thursday's ballgame is vital for TCU's pursuit of a repeat conference championship. Baylor holds a one-game lead over TCU, No. 16 Texas Tech and No. 19 West Virginia, whom TCU hosts at 7 p.m. on Sunday, for first place in the Big 12 standings.

- TCU and Baylor are squaring off with a share of first place in the Big 12 standings and/or a conference championship in the balance for the third straight game.
- TCU beat Baylor for both the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles in 2024-25.
- The Horned Frogs defeated the Bears 51-48 on March 2 in their last visit to Waco to capture the university's first Big 12 basketball title. It marked the first time in league history that the undisputed Big 12 championship was decided on the final game of the regular season.
- TCU went 3-0 vs. Baylor in 2024-25. Prior to last season, the Horned Frogs had lost 35 straight games to the Bears dating back to 1990.
- Starting Thursday, four of TCU's last six games are vs. teams either ranked or receiving votes in the AP Top 25. The Frogs host Baylor on March 1 in their regular season finale.
- TCU held Baylor to its two lowest scoring outputs of the 2024-25 campaign in the teams' Big 12 championship bouts. The Bears' 48 points scored in last season's battle in Waco were the program's second-fewest in a game under Nicki Collen while their 27.7 percent shooting clip was Baylor's worst in a league game in the last 16 years.
- In all three head-to-heads last season, TCU built double-digit second half leads vs. Baylor, only for the Bears to get within a single possession or regain the lead.
- The Horned Frogs have finished with a sizeable advantage on the glass in each of their last three wins over the Bears. TCU was plus-eight or better on the boards in every game last season.
- Under head coach Mark Campbell, TCU has morphed into one of the nation's winningest programs. The Horned Frogs rank fifth among all D1 programs in winning percentage (.873) and total wins (55) since 2024-25. Campbell's 76 wins as TCU's head man are the seventh-most at the Power Conference level over the past three eight.
- Giving grist to TCU's recent dominance, five of the Horned Frogs' seven losses over the last two seasons, including all four in 2025-26. have either been by one possession or come in overtime. Also of note, the Horned Frogs have not lost back-to-back games at any point in the last two seasons.
- The Horned Frogs are four victories away from posting consecutive 25-win seasons for the first time in TCU men's or women's basketball history.
- TCU has competed to a 10-4 record vs. the AP Top 25 over the last two seasons. The Horned Frogs' 10 ranked wins in that span are tied with LSU and Notre Dame for the seventh-most of any team nationwide in that span.
- TCU has held eight of its last 11 opponents below 40 percent shooting when facing a ranked team dating back to January of 2025, including all three tilts this season.
- Seven of the last nine ranked teams TCU has faced have failed to score more than 65 points, among them NC State and Texas Tech this season.
- TCU boasts the nation's seventh-best scoring defense in ranked matchups over the last two seasons among teams who have played at least 12 games vs. AP Top 25 opponents, surrendering 64.6 points per game.
- TCU is sixth among qualified teams in field goal percentage defense (.388) in ranked matchups over the last two seasons.
- A TCU player has either scored 20 points and/or finished with a double-double in 18 of the Horned Frogs' 22 tilts vs. AP Top 25 teams under Mark Campbell.
- TCU has yet to lose under Mark Campbell when benefitting from two 20-point scorers or having four players in double figures versus a ranked opponent.
- Olivia Miles (15 points, 14 rebounds) and Clara Silva (12 rebounds, 11 points) each finished with a double-double in the Frogs' victory at No. 10 NC State on Nov. 16. It marked one of just 15 instances thus far in 2025-26 in which two teammates posted a double-double vs. an AP Top 25 team in the same game.
- Both Miles and Donovyn Hunter boast career assist-to-turnover ratios of at least 1.5 vs. ranked teams. Miles' career assist-to-turnover against the AP Top 25 is 1.61 while Hunter's stands at 1.56.
- Miles and Marta Suarez have each finished with at least 20 points and five rebounds in each of TCU's last two games and six times overall, more than any pair of teammates in college basketball.
- Miles and Suarez are the highest-scoring duo in the Big 12, averaging a combined 35.6 points per game. They are the one of two sets of teammates in the conference each averaging more than 15 points per game.
- Miles and Suarez are also one the only duo nationwide averaging at least 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and two assists per game.
- Miles, Suarez and Hunter are the country's fifth-highest scoring trio (48 ppg).

- Tabbed Big 12 Player of the Week for a league-leading third time this season on Monday; averaged 28 points, five rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 65 percent from the field (20-31) across TCU's contests vs. Houston and Colorado.
- Also named to the Nancy Lieberman Award midseason top 10 and Wooden Award late midseason top 20 watch lists; is the only Big 12 player and one of only four guards featuring on both lists.
- Is averaging a career-high 21 points per game in league play; ranks third among all players and leads all guards in the metric.
- Has scored 20-plus in 10 of her last 13 outings and led TCU in scoring in 11 straight games.
- Has connected at-or-above a 50 percent clip from the floor in 17 games.
- For the year, is averaging a career-high 19.7 points per game on the strength of a career-best 51 percent shooting clip.
