
Frogs Breeze by UCF for Fifth Straight Big 12 Win

ORLANDO, Fla. – No. 9 TCU scored 22 unanswered points in the first half and soared to a 67-50 victory over UCF in Space City on Saturday.
The Horned Frogs bridged a 22-0 run between the first and second quarters and held the Knights scoreless for nearly nine minutes. TCU led 37-16 at halftime and did not allow UCF to get any closer than 14 points the rest of the way.
TCU (19-2, 7-1 Big 12) maintained a share of first place in the Big 12 standings and won its fifth straight game in league play. The Frogs have now claimed 16 of their last 17 bouts vs. conference foes dating back to February of 2025.
Olivia Miles tallied a game-high 17 points and six assists and padded her stat line with a half-dozen rebounds.
Miles dished out her 800th career assist on TCU's first bucket of the afternoon. She became only the fifth player in NCAA history to record at least 1,500 points, 800 assists and 700 rebounds.
Donovyn Hunter finished with 12 points while Taylor Bigby scored 11 to give TCY three double digit scorers.
Clara Silva and Marta Suarez each netted eight points.
Silva led all players with 10 rebounds.
Bigby collected all 11 of her points in the first half.
She and Clara Bielefeld accounted for eight points in an 11-0 run spanning the final four minutes of the opening frame that saw TCU double up the Knights at 18-9.
The duo bookended a sequence of three straight 3-pointers before Miles found Bielefeld for a transition layup to put the Frogs in front by seven.
A 3-ball from Hunter followed by consecutive layups from Miles stretched TCU's advantage to 27-9.
UCF (10-10, 2-7 Big 12) finally got on the scoreboard with 5:52 to go before the break. Bigby countered with eight straight points and gave TCU its first 20-point lead, 35-14, at the 1:18 mark of the second period.
Bigby drilled 3-4 threes as TCU collectively connected on five of its first nine attempts behind the arc.
The only negative on the ledger for the Horned Frogs in a wire-to-wire win was the 3-point shooting. TCU misfired on 11 straight threes out of the intermission and went 1-13 from distance in the second half.
Hunter and Silva pitched in eight points apiece in the second half.
UCF became the 10th team to score 50 points or less vs. the Horned Frogs' defense.
TCU held the Knights to 33 percent shooting (20-60), allowed just four 3-pointers and limited the hosts to a season-low 10 assists.
The Horned Frogs assisted on 19 of their 28 makes from the field.
Silva and Bielefeld both dished out three dimes.
Behind Silva, TCU outrebounded the Knights 42-32 and racked up 40 points in the paint.
The Frogs converted 64 percent of their shots inside the arc (21-33) and connected at a 48 percent clip for the game.

The Horned Frogs have five days off before returning to the court at 5 p.m. on Thursday to host Kansas at Schollmaier Arena in a game that will air on ESPN. Saturday's ballgame was TCU's fourth in the last 11 days and third in the eastern time zone.
Beginning with Thursday's bout vs. the Jayhawks, TCU will play six of its last 10 games on linear television, including four of five at home.
