No. 17 TCU hosts Bearkats at 7 p.m. on Sunday

FORT WORTH – TCU continues its three-game homestand to open the 2025-26 season when it hosts Sam Houston at 7 p.m. on Sunday at Schollmaier Arena.

The 17^th-ranked Horned Frogs rolled to an 82-43 victory over North Carolina A&T on Thursday in their season-opener.

Thursday. The Horned Frogs drilled 11 threes and were 10-24 from distance over the final three quarters.

Individual Notables
Olivia Miles

Miles ranks second nationally in career games with at least 15 points, five rebounds and five assists while shooting 50 percent from deep. She finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists and drained 3-6 looks from deep in her TCU debut.
Miles notched her 25th career 15-5-5 game on Thursday. She leads all D1 guards in the category.
Miles is the active D1 leader in career assists per game average (6.5), career assists (660) and triple doubles (six).
She is also the lone D1 player with at least 25 career double-doubles and five triple-doubles.
Miles has maintained a 2-1 assist-to-turnover ratio for the entirety of her career.
Miles was tabbed to every national player of the year award preseason watch list. She and Audi Crooks (Iowa State) were the lone Big 12 players tabbed to both the Naismith and Wade Trophy watch lists.

Miles was named Big 12 Preseason Newcomer of the Year and to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team.
Miles is contending to become the fourth transfer point guard in five seasons to win a conference player of the year accolade under Campbell.
Miles may also make TCU the first program in Big 12 history to produce the league's Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year in the same season. Hailey Van Lith swept the accolades in 2024-25.
Miles is the only three-time All-American on a Big 12 roster entering this season.
Miles first represented TCU at the FIBA AmeriCup in July, helping USA Basketball win gold. She was one of 12 collegians and two from the Big 12 selected to compete.
Miles averaged 7.1 assists, 6.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while connecting at a 53 percent clip from the field. She led the tournament in assist per game average and total assists (50).

Marta Suarez

Suarez needs four points to reach 1,000 for her career.
Suarez is the only men's or women's player who has competed in four Power Conferences when including the Pac-12. She played in both the Pac-12 and ACC at Cal and spent two years in the SEC with Tennessee.
The Spaniard scored in double figures for the 49th time in her career vs. North Carolina A&T, leading all players with 19 points. She has reached double digits in 35-39 games since 2024-25.
Suarez started every game across two seasons at Cal from 2023-25, averaging 12.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game as a senior last year.
Suarez scored in double figures in all-but-four games for the Golden Bears in 2024-25. She was one of 14 D1 forwards to shoot at least 46 percent from the field and 32 percent from distance.

Clara Silva

Silva finished with 13 points and matched her career-high on the glass with eight rebounds in her TCU debut. She padded her stat line with three blocks, marking the sixth time she recorded three-or-more blocks in a game.
Silva was one of only three first-year players in 2024-25 to finish with five-or-more blocks in at least two games.
The 6-7 center was named Best Defensive Player and was one of five players tabbed to the All-Tournament team at the FIBA U19 World Cup in July. Silva averaged a near double-double of 23 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.
Silva finished with a +43 efficiency valuation along with 37 points and 10 rebounds to lift Portugal to an 83-80 win over Israel in the round of 16. Her efficiency valuation was the second highest in FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup history while her 43 points were the most of any European since 1989.

Donovyn Hunter

Hunter sports a 2.03 career assist-to-turnover ratio. She ranked ninth among all Big 12 guards in the category last season (1.81).
Hunter finished with a 4-1 assist-to-turnover ratio vs. North Carolina A&T, marking the 18th time she has done so and sixth in a TCU uniform.
Hunter is averaging 13.3 points per game over her last three home outings. She scored 17 points vs. the Aggies, one shy of matching her career high of 18, which she recorded in TCU's second round NCAA Tournament victory over Louisville in March.
Hunter's affinity for Walsh Family Court is clear in her shooting percentages. At home, she is connecting at a 50.3 percent clip from the field (66-131) and 42 percent behind the arc (25-60).
She doubled her points and assists per game averages over the final 13 games of the 2024-25 season in TCU's run to the Elite Eight. She averaged 7.1 points and 3.8 assists per game with a 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio. Hunter shot 44 percent from the field (35-79) in that span.

Maddie Scherr

Scherr has finished with three-plus steals on 23 occasions. She tallied 11 three-steal games as a junior at Kentucky in 2022-23.
Scherr ranks third among all active players in career three-steal games.
Scherr is one of only three active players alongside Rori Harmon (Texas) and Charlisse Leger-Walker (UCLA) with at least 350 career assists and 170 career steals.
The Kentucky native has tallied 10-or-more points and five-plus assists in 20 career games.

Taylor Bigby

Bigby earned he starting nod in 24 of TCU's first 26 games in her first year in Fort Worth in 2024-25.
TCU was 12-0 last season when Bigby scored in double figures.
Bigby averaged a career-high 8.2 points per game during nonconference play last season.

Kennedy Basham

The 6-7 Basham ranks second only to UCLA's Lauren Betts among all returning D1 players in total blocks (83) and blocks per game average (2.6) from last season.
Basham led all players with six blocks and came one shy of matching her career high in Thursday's win.
The 6-7 Basham has sent back four-or-more shots eight times over the course of her career. Seven of her four-block efforts have come over the last two seasons.

Veronica Sheffey

Sheffey led San Diego State in assists in 26-of-31 games and scored in double figures 21 times in 2024-25.

Clara Bielefeld

Bielefeld became the youngest player to ever compete for the German Senior National Team in June at age-17. She competed at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket Championship in June.

TCU scored its fifth most points ever in a game in its 117-50 victory over the Bearkats on Nov. 16, 2001. The 67-point margin of victory is tied for the fifth largest in program history.
The Horned Frogs led by 43 points entering the intermission in their 2001 romp over Sam Houston. The first half scoring margin still stands as the third-largest halftime lead in program history and second largest vs. a Division I opponent.
TCU has twice scored 56 first half points vs. the Bearkats, the fourth-most through a game's opening 20 minutes in program history.
Sam Houston claimed the first four meetings in the all-time series between the programs from 1980-85.
Sam Houston produced a 40-12 advantage in points in the paint vs. TCU in its 60-54 win in Schollmaier Arena in 2022.
