
Prince Scores 30 to Lead No. 11 TCU Past Kansas

Finishes with 30-point, 14-rebound double-double in Frogs’ 80-73 win
LAWRENCE, Kan. – TCU absorbed Kansas' best shot in Allen Fieldhouse and emerged with an impressive road win.
Sedona Prince, Hailey Van Lith and Taylor Bigby combined for 60 points as the 11th-ranked Horned Frogs held on for an 80-73 win over Kansas on Wednesday.
Prince put on a show in the sport's most storied venue, finishing with 30 points, 14 rebounds, four assists and three blocks. The 6-7 center netted 20 first half points on 9-12 shooting to stake TCU to a 38-32 lead entering the intermission.
She and Van Lith worked the pick-n-roll all afternoon, with Van Lith pairing a game-high six assists – five in the first half – with 19 points.
Bigby and Van Lith capped a crucial 8-2 run with consecutive and-one finishes that gave TCU its largest lead, 68-56, with 4:16 remaining in the ballgame.
The backcourt duo accounted for 17 of TCU's 22 points in the final frame. Van Lith went 5-5 at the foul line in the fourth.
TCU improved to 16-1 overall and 4-0 in Big 12 play. The Horned Frogs are now one of only two remaining unbeatens in the 16-team league ahead of a Saturday night tilt vs. Texas Tech in Lubbock.
The Frogs' offense sizzled as temperatures hovered in the low-teens in the Great Plains. TCU connected at a 59 percent clip (16-29) in the first half and finished the game 52 percent, assisting on 19 of its 28 makes.
Kansas (11-4, 1-3 Big 12) kept pace, converting 25 of its 50 looks, but never led in the final three quarters. The Horned Frogs trailed 19-18 following the game's first 10 minutes. Jumpers from Prince and Agnes Emma-Nnopu on TCU's first look in the second period put the Frogs in front for good. TCU led for 34:49 in the contest.

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Van Lith midway through the second gave TCU its first bit of separation, nudging the Frogs in front 29-21.
Prince stymied a string of nine Jayhawk points late in the quarter with six of her own. Donovyn Hunter drilled a three on TCU's penultimate possession trip down the court to give TCU a two-possession lead at the horn.
TCU assisted on 12 of its 16 field goals in the first half.

The Jayhawks again closed withing a possession, 47-44, ahead of the media timeout but Prince punched back with an and-one. Two free throws on TCU's next sequence made it 54-46 purple at the 3:43 mark in the quarter.
Bigby swished a 3-pointer from the baseline with 2:25 to go that padded TCU's lead, 73-64. The eight points in the final frame were her most in a quarter this season.
Kansas was led by 25 points from S'Mya Nichols. TCU kept the Big 12 leading scorer at bay for 30 minutes, holding the 6-0 guard to 16 points ahead of the fourth.
TCU outscored Kansas 20-13 in the second, with the teams otherwise playing even basketball.
The Horned Frogs outrebounded the Jayhawks 31-24.
