
No. 11 TCU Stifles Texas Tech 69-43

LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 11 TCU clamped down on Texas Tech and came away with its third straight road win on Saturday in west Texas.
The Horned Frogs held the Lady Raiders to 22 percent shooting and coasted to a 69-43 victory at United Supermarkets Arena.
Texas Tech's 43 points were its fewest in a game all season. TCU (17-1, 5-0 Big 12) also set a program record for fewest points allowed in a Big 12 road affair.
The Frogs outscored the Lady Raiders 16-5 in the second quarter to take a 33-21 edge into the locker room. TCU then proceeded to hold Texas Tech (12-6, 1-4 Big 12) without a field goal for the first 8:42 of the final frame and to just four points total – its fewest allowed in a quarter all year.
Hailey Van Lith tallied 16 of her team-high 22 points in the second half, including 10 in the third quarter. The Wooden Award candidate finished 7-14 from the field. Van Lith led all players with seven assists, her most in a Big 12 game.
Sedona Prince notched her second double-double in as many games and eighth of the season, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks.
Madison Conner contributed 13 points on the strength of a 4-8 clip from downtown.
Prince and Van Lith – the sixth-highest scoring duo in the country – netted 14 combined points in the opening frame, with Prince collecting eight. Free throws from Van Lith with 21 seconds to go gave TCU the lead for good. 17-16.
Texas Tech used a full-court press and 10 points from Bailey Maupin, who led all scorers with 23, to remain afloat.
Aaliyah Roberson sparked an 11-0 run spanning midway through the second that stretched TCU's lead to 30-17 with 4:16 to go. The 6-2 forward transformed a block into a fast break 3-pointer that put the Frogs up nine and forced the Lady Raiders into timeout. Roberson punctuated the surge with a backdoor layup off an assist from Prince
The San Antonio native finished with nine points, six rebounds and a season-high three blocks over 21 minutes. Six of Roberson's points came in the second period.
Van Lith scored TCU's final 10 points of the third.
Prince punctuated her 20-spot with consecutive layups to begin the final frame that widened the advantage to 57-39 at the 7:16 mark.
Conner matched Texas Tech's fourth quarter scoring output with one shot, completing a four-point play with just over one minute remaining. The sequence staked TCU to its largest lead of the evening at 69-41.
TCU limited the Lady Raiders to 1-13 shooting in the fourth and just five field goals in the second half.
In addition to points, the Horned Frogs' defense stifled Texas Tech into season-lows in field goals (13), field goal percentage, 3-point percentage (.118) and assists (four).
TCU finished 50 percent (26-52) from the field, marking the 10th time this season it has shot 50 percent or better in a game. TCU has connected at or a bove a 50 percent clip in four of its five Big 12 wins.
The Horned Frogs recorded 10 blocks, their second-most in a game in 2024-25.
TCU outrebounded the Lady Raiders 36-31.
