Horned Frogs face Cornhuskers for St. Pete Showcase championship
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – TCU is set to battle Nebraska for the outright St. Pete Showcase championship at noon CT on Saturday.
The title tilt pits the Horned Frogs and Cornhuskers opposite one another on the hardwood for the first time ever.

- TCU and Nebraska are meeting for the first time ever on the hardwood.
- The Horned Frogs win the St. Pete Showcase outright with a win over the Cornhuskers. TCU last won a Thanksgiving holiday tournament in 2017-18, when it defeated Arizona and Idaho at the Warner Center Marriott Thanksgiving Classic in Northridge, California.
- TCU is partaking in a Thanksgiving weekend tournament for the 25th time. The Horned Frogs hold a 28-25 all-time record in games played over Thanksgiving weekend.
- TCU head coach Mark Campbell recruited Cornhuskers point guard Jaz Shelley (10.5 ppg, 3 apg) to Oregon in 2019-20 during his tenure as the Ducks' associate head coach.
- TCU will match its best start to a season in its 47-year history via a victory on Saturday. The 2019-20 Horned Frogs squad began the season 7-0 and went on to finish with a 22-7 overall record.
- Mark Campbell is the first head coach in program history to begin his TCU tenure 6-0.
- Madison Conner canned a game-high 28 points in TCU's 85-56 victory against UTEP on Thursday. Conner shot 8-8 from the field in the second half. She has eclipsed 20 points in all-but-one of TCU's games thus far.
- Conner ranks second nationally in points (140), with only reigning National Player of the Year Caitlin Clark ahead of her in the category.
- TCU is the only team across the nation with two of the nation's top-10 scorers. Sedona Prince's 127 points are the sixth-most among all D1 players. The Horned Frogs are also the lone program nationwide with two 20-point scorers.
- Conner has led the country in 3-pointers and 3-pointers per game for two straight weeks. Her 31 deep balls are 10 more than any player. She has pocketed five-or-more 3-pointers in four of her first six games in purple.
- Prince continues to lead the country in double-doubles (four) and ranks second in total rebounds (62).
- Conner and Prince rank first and third, respectively, in the Big 12 in points per game.
- Prince finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and five blocks against UTEP. All five of her rejections came in the second half. The five blocks matched her career-high.
- The Horned Frogs are sixth nationally in blocks per game (7.5). Prince ranks third in total blocks with 17.
- TCU has largely put away each of its half-dozen wins in the second quarter. The Horned Frogs used a 16-4 run to outscore UTEP 23-11 in the frame and take a 19-point lead into halftime. TCU holds a 130-65 cumulative second quarter scoring edge. TCU outscored the Miners 23-8 over the final eight minutes of the second quarter.
- TCU has knocked down the second-most 3-pointers of any team in the country with 60. Only Utah (69) has made more. The Horned Frogs have drained 10-or-more deep balls in four of their six wins (TAMU-Kingsville, Rice, Army, UTEP).
- The Horned Frogs are assisting on 68 percent (113-167) of their field goals this season. The Horned Frogs dished out a season-high 24 assists on Sunday vs. Army.
- Jaden Owens has led TCU in assists in five of six games this season. She is second in the Big 12 in assists per game (5.8).
- Owens has dished out five-plus assists in 26 of her last 37 games played dating back to 2022-23.
- TCU has hit or eclipsed 85 points three times this season. TCU last scored 85-plus points in three games in the same season in 2018-19.
- The Horned Frogs have limited all six of their opponents to 56-or-fewer points. The last time TCU held five-or-more opponents under 56 points came during the 2019-20 campaign (12 times).
