ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – TCU enjoyed a Thanksgiving Day feast on Thursday, steamrolling UTEP 85-56 inside the McArthur Center to begin the St. Pete Showcase.

Madison Conner led all scorers with 28 points. The nation's leading 3-point shooter, Conner drained five deep balls for the fourth time in six games this season. She was 8-8 from the field and scored 19 points in the second half. The 5-11 guard also collected a game-high eight rebounds.
Sedona Prince (19 points, seven rebounds) and Una Jovanovic (15 points) joined Conner in double figures.
TCU is 6-0 to start a season for just the second time in its 47-year history.
The Horned Frogs now face Nebraska (4-1) with a chance to win the St. Pete Showcase championship outright at noon on Saturday.
TCU worked its way to an 18-11 lead at the end of one behind consecutive 3-pointers from Conner and Jovanovic to close the quarter. Jovanovic tallied seven of her points over the first 10 minutes TCU struck gold from deep three times and held UTEP to 5-16 shooting.
UTEP (3-3) trimmed the margin to 18-14 via an and-one on its first possession to begin the second quarter. But TCU, which entered the contest outscoring teams 107-54 in the second period, added to its season-long scoring surge in the frame.
The Horned Frogs ripped off a 16-4 run over the ensuing six minutes and stretch the lead to 34-16. Tara Manumaleuga scored five of TCU's first seven points in the spurt before Jovanovic capped the run with a 3-pointer.
Jovanovic canned her third triple of the half to widen TCU's advantage to 39-22. Agnes Emma-Nnopu finished inside off a slip on the Horned Frogs final possession and gave TCU a 19-point edge entering the intermission.
Leading 51-27 in the third, UTEP briefly made things interesting. The Miners scored 13 of the ensuing 15 points over 3:08 of play to cut TCU's advantage down to 12. TCU head coach Mark Campbell – the first first-year head coach in program history to win his first six games – then called a full timeout. Conner finished drives from her non-dominant left side on back-to-back possessions and promptly restored order. UTEP never got closer than 14 points the rest of the way.
Conner racked up eight points over the first 2:07 of the final frame and balloon TCU's lead to 72-47. The 5-11 guard connected from well beyond NBA range less than 90 seconds later for her fifth-and-final 3-pointer and allowed Campbell to call off the dogs.
Conner and Prince have scored in double figures in each of their first half-dozen games in purple and white.
Prince was an efficient 8-12 from the field and matched her career-high in blocks (five). All five of her rejections.
Emma-Nnopu matched Prince on the class while contributing nine points, six of which came off slips in the paint.
TCU held the Miners to a 33 percent shooting clip (21-62) and 4-20 mark from distance. No team has shot better than 33 percent thus far against the Horned Frogs.
