
Frogs Snap Win Streak in Two-Point Loss to Cyclones

FORT WORTH - In battle of Top 25 teams, No. 17 TCU lost to No. 25 Iowa State, 69-67, Saturday in Schollmaier Arena.
The Horned Frogs (13-2, 2-1) snapped their 11-game win streak, which was the nation's fourth-longest streak at the entering the day.
With the exception of a brief 3-2 lead off a 3-pointer by Damion Baugh, TCU trailed throughout the game. Coming off a 33-point performance at Baylor, Mike Miles Jr. got into foul trouble early, picking up his second fouls with 10 minutes to play and finished with three points in the period. TCU trailed 36-30 at the break.
Miles scored 15 of his team-high 18 points in the second half where TCU trailed by as many as nine points with just over 14 minutes to play. The Frogs trailed by eight points, 66-58, with 2:11 to play before a JaKobe Coles 3-pointer on the very next possession sparked a late rally. It was the first of nine-straight TCU points.
Trailing by one point with 42 seconds to play, Miles was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made 2-of-3 from the line. The Cyclones (12-2, 3-0) took advantage of the final shot as Gabe Kalscheur, who started 0-of-5 from three, made one from beyond-the-arc to give his team a two-point lead with 1.5 seconds to play. The ensuing TCU possession resulted in the Frogs' 18th turnover of the game.
Baugh finished the game with 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds and five assists.
The Horned Frogs next head to Austin to face No. 6 Texas (13-2, 2-1) on Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.
