Damion Baugh records a double-double as four Horned Frogs score in double figures
FORT WORTH - Four Horned Frogs scored in double figures as the No. 15 TCU men's basketball team defeated West Virginia, 76-72, Tuesday in Schollmaier Arena.
With top scorer Mike Miles Jr. sidelined due to a right knee injury, TCU (17-5, 6-3) shot 51.7 percent from the field and had 20 assists to just seven turnovers in a game the Horned Frogs led nearly the entire game.
Senior Damion Baugh recorded his second-career double-double with 16 points and 10 assists to go with six rebounds. Sophomore JaKobe Coles scored a game-high 17 points, on 6-of-10 shooting in just 18 minutes of play. Shahada Wells added 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting and five assists.
Xavier Cork scored 15 points, the most in two seasons as a Horned Frog and had two blocks.
After TCU held a 36-32 lead at halftime, West Virginia (13-9, 2-7) never got to within less than four points in the second half. A pair of Baugh free throws with 4:32 to play gave TCU its largest lead of the game, 65-53.
TCU turned 10 West Virginia turnovers into 12 points and had a 48-30 advantage in the paint.
The Horned Frogs will face Oklahoma State (12-9) in Stillwater, Okla. on Saturday at 1 p.m. on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
