"We battled. We were worn down, but we battled down the stretch and found a way, so I am proud of them. That is a really good France team that really responded, competed and played well together. They (France) are obviously very talented and well coached and have been together a long time to my understanding, but glad we were able to pull it off."

Jamie Dixon Quotes
"I thought on offense we moved the ball more. Our defensive pressure, our ball screen defense kept the ball out of the lane. I think we made some adjustments. I say adjustments but I think we just got better at understanding what we're trying to do. And we seemed to get the rebounding going in our direction. They kept battling, give them credit. We lost some energy and they hit a couple of threes but I was really impressed with the run that we had. We've had some pretty good runs in this tournament."
Mike Miles Quotes
"We just had to increase our energy. We were turning the ball over and not boxing out and giving up rebounds. We went on a run and went up 20 and kept going."

USA 88 - SENEGAL 58 | July 9 | Box Score
A game-opening 3-pointer by TCU's Mike Miles set the tone for another route by the USA Men's U19 World Cup Team, this time over Senegal, 88-58, at the 2021 FIBA World Cup, held at the Riga Olympic Center in Riga, Latvia.
Led by TCU head coach Jamie Dixon, USA led 32-14 after the first quarter and rolled into the semifinals where it will face Canada at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday on ESPN+.
Miles earned his fourth start in five games and recorded 11 points, three rebounds, five assists and two steals in 22 minutes of play. The Highland Hills, Texas native tied for the team lead with two others with a plus-minus of 27.
Jamie Dixon Quotes
"I thought we played really good to start the game in the first quarter and thought we had tremendous passing. The press was good for us early, and they (Senegal) kept coming at us. I've got to give them respect. They battled, they kept playing and they killed us on the boards."
"They (Canada) are all players our kids know and are all high-major players going to college or at college, stated Dixon. So, we anticipated that Canada would be one of the final four teams, and that's where they are. These are guys that our guys know, respect and are familiar with, so I think we know what we're going to be going against."
Mike Miles Quotes
"We got off to a good start, then we dropped off in the second quarter. We just had to maintain our energy, but we are glad we came out with a win for sure and we are going to get ready for tomorrow."
"We expect a good game, we know they (Canada) play hard and we're used to some of the players they have. We've played against some of them, we know they're great players and they play at a high level. We expect and good tough game, but we also expect to come out with a win."

"We got eight guys in double figures, our goal was to have 40 assists, we had 39, so we really passed it and stayed unselfish the entire game, which is a challenge. We were really kind of preaching to all to come together and realize we really need to become more unselfish with the basketball from training camp and we have."

USA 87 - AUSTRALIA 66 | July 6 | Box Score
Mike Miles tied a team-high with 16 points as the USA Men's U19 World Cup Team won its final game of Group D play, 87-66 over Australia on Tuesday at the Riga Olympic Center in Riga, Latvia.

Led by TCU head coach Jamie Dixon, USA advanced to bracket play and will face Korea in the round of 16 at 12:30 p.m. CT Wednesday.
Jamie Dixon Quotes:
"In the first half I don't think we handled the press very well. We went through it, we talked about it, but you know it's one of those things that we don't understand spacing at times, but we did a much better job within the second half. "Mike (Miles) was tremendous at getting the ball to the guys and was unselfish and made some shots today. He really led the team, set the tone and makes the commitment to getting us passing the ball."
Mike Miles Quotes:
"I saw my team needed me to score in this game, all the other games I was focused on being a point guard. They needed me to score and I got shots to fall early."
"During halftime we just regrouped. We turned the ball over everywhere when they were pressing so getting in our press offense and staying under control was key while they were pressing."
"The most fun part has been seeing us come together. The first two scrimmages we had we didn't play good at all, the last three games it was a complete turnaround, and we were like a whole new team. Just us playing together and us having fun on the bench and stuff is the best part."
