Frogs Defeat Cyclones to Sweep Season Series

TCU shoots 18-of-18 from the free throw line
AMES, Iowa – TCU used a balanced offensive attack and perfect free throw shooting to secure a 76-72 win at Iowa State on Saturday in Hilton Coliseum.
TCU (12-10, 5-8 Big 12) had four players score in double-figures. Mike Miles and RJ Nembhard led the Frogs with 19 points apiece. TCU was 18-of-18 shooting from the free throw line and Miles and Nembhard were a big reason why. Miles made 5-of-5 and Nembhard was 8-of-8, including four makes in the final 11 seconds.
TCU made its first three shots to jump out to an early 6-2 lead. The Frogs built their lead with stellar defense and 3-point shooting to their largest of the game, 14 at 35-21 with 4:00 remaining in the first half. TCU led 37-30 at halftime, and Chuck O'Bannon led all scorers through the first twenty minutes with nine of his game total 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range.
The Cyclones (2-19, 0-15 Big 12) battled back to start the second half and took their first lead of the game at 56-53 with 10:14 to play following three consecutive 3-pointers. The Frogs responded with a 10-2 run over the next three minutes to reclaim the lead at 63-58. TCU continued its perfect free throw shooting down the stretch and held the Cyclones to 37.5 percent shooting over the final 7:34 of play to seal its third road win of the season and sweep the season series with Iowa State.
