Frogs Complete Comback for 13-point Win over Colonels

Miles leads all players with 16 points
FORT WORTH - TCU erased a 13-point second-half deficit to defeat Nicholls, 63-50, Thursday night in Schollmaier Arena.
A 22-3 run sparked the comeback and moved the Horned Frogs to 3-0 for the sixth-straight season. Miles led the team with 16 points, 14 of which came in the second half. Micah Peavy joined Miles in double-figures with 10 points.
TCU's defense helped the Horned Frogs take a 10-2 lead just over seven minutes into the game as Nicholls made just one of its first 13 shot attempts. The Colonels (3-2) went on a 24-8 run to take their largest lead of the half, 26-18, with 2:09 to play and led 30-24 at halftime.
Nicholls' lead grew to 13 three minutes into the half before TCU went on a 13-0 run, capped by a JaKobe Coles 3-pointer to tie the game 38-38 with 12:54 to play. The run extended to 22-3 as the Frogs made several 3-point plays to take a 47-41 lead with 6:55 to play. Francisco Farabello nailed a 3-pointer to give TCU a 57-47 lead with 2:39 remaining as the Frogs kept the momentum to win by 13.
TCU shot 48.1 percent from the field in the second half compared to 26.9 percent in the first half. The Frogs held the Colonels to just 32.1 percent from the field.
TCU will next travel to San Juan Capistrano, Calif., for the SoCal Challenge. The Frogs face Santa Clara on Nov. 22 and Pepperdine on Nov. 24.
