
TCU Drops 81-66 Game to No. 11 Texas Tech

Miller and Robinson lead the Frogs in the loss
FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU could not overcome an early deficit and fell to No. 11 Texas Tech, 81-66, Saturday at Schollmaier Arena.
The Horned Frogs (18-11, 6-10) were led by their seniors as JD Miller scored a game-high 18 points and Alex Robinson added 17.
After TCU led 5-4, it was all Texas Tech as the Red Raiders (24-5, 12-4) bolted out to a 43-25 lead with 4:15 to play. During that run, Tech held TCU without a field goal for eight minutes and 23 seconds. Kouat Noi made his impact late in the half to keep the Frogs in it, scoring eight points in a minute and half. Noi finished with 15 points. Texas Tech shot 59.4 percent from the field in the first half and led 45-25 at the break.
The Frogs scored the first 12 points of the second half, with seven points coming from Robinson and five from Noi. The 14-3 start to the half by TCU closed the deficit to seven points, 46-39, with 15:43 remaining. Texas Tech rediscovered its offense and cruised the rest of the way to seal the victory to stay atop the Big 12 standings.

TCU will face No. 16 Kansas State on Monday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2. It will also be Senior Night for TCU with Miller and Robinson playing their final game at home.

- The Red Raiders won their fourth consecutive game against the Horned Frogs and lead the all-time series 83-51.
- TCU scored a season-low 25 first half points.
- Texas Tech shot 56.9 percent from the field to TCU's 38.7 percent.
- TCU outscored Tech in the second half, 41-38.

Individual Notes
- Kouat Noi had 15 points and recorded double figures in scoring for the 12th consecutive game. Noi has scored double digits for all games he has played in but two this year.
- Noi was 3-for-10 from 3-point range, giving him 26 straight games with a made three. He entered the game as one of three players nationwide to have a made three in 25 consecutive games.
- Noi set a career high in steals with four.
- JD Miller played in the 132nd game of his career which moves him alone into second in the all-time TCU games played chart.
- Miller netted 18 points on 5-of-9 shooting, moving him into 29th place on the TCU all-time scoring list with 1,086 career points. He scored TCU's last nine points on three 3-pointers.
- Over his past four games, JD Miller is averaging 16.8 points per game on 56.4 percent shooting from the floor.
- Alex Robinson scored 17 points and is now tied for 22nd on TCU's all-time scoring list with 1,121 points scored at TCU. He has now scored in double-figures in nine consecutive games.
- Kevin Samuel recorded a block, giving him 12 straight games with a blocked shot.
