Frogs shutout for just the third time this season
FORT WORTH – TCU saw its two match winning streak come to an end with a 4-0 loss to Baylor Sunday night at Garvey-Rosenthal. The teams waited out an almost three hour lightning delay before starting the contest.
The Rundown
TCU and Baylor played a pretty even first half. The Horned Frogs had some good looks early, forcing a pair of saves by the Baylor goalkeeper. Yazmeen Ryan had the Frogs' best look in the 6th minute as she rocketed a shot off the keeper from just inside the six yard box.
Baylor struck for the first tally of the game in the 32nd minute on a shot from distance. Raegan Padgett's first goal of the night clanged off the crossbar and bounced into the net for a 1-0 lead.
Out of halftime, Baylor took control of the match, scoring three times on eight shots. Padgett picked up her second goal of the game in the 57th minute as she chipped in a shot over the keeper's head for a 2-0 lead.
Gracie Brian had the best chance for the Frogs in the second half. In the 63rd minute, the Frogs earned a corner kick. Grace Collins' feed was on target, but Brian's header trickled just wide of the goal.
A goal in the 67th minute off a deflection pushed the Baylor advantage to 3-0. A penalty kick in the 83rd minute accounted for the final score.
