Fort Worth, Texas (Daniel-Meyer Coliseum)
Nov. 15, 2009
Attendance: 2,104
TEAM NOTES
-TCU won its 10th season opener in 11 tries under head coach Jeff Mittie.
-TCU broke the 100-point barrier for the 14th time in school history, and the first time since the squad scored 106 points vs. North Carolina A&T on Dec. 30, 2006. The 109 points marked the eighth-best total in program history.
-The 79-point margin of victory was the second-most lopsided win in school history. Only an 80-point win over Prairie View A&M on Nov. 30, 2001 (103-23) was more lopsided.
-TCU featured two true freshmen starters in forwards Starr Crawford and DeLisa Gross. Sunday's game marked the first time in head coach Jeff Mittie's tenure that two true freshmen opened a season in the starting lineup.
-TCU's 47-point lead at intermission set a team record for largest advantage at the half, breaking the previous best of 44 points set against McMurry on Nov. 22, 1996.
-TCU's 60 points at intermission marked the third-most scored in the first half of a game in program history. The record of 67 points was recorded against Howard Payne on Nov. 29, 1996. Sunday's first-period total was also the fifth-best of any half in TCU history.
-HBU's 13 first-half points marked the eighth-lowest scoring total for a TCU opponent in a first half in program history. Texas Southern set the school record by scoring only five points in the opening 20 minutes on Dec. 30, 2002.
-TCU posted a 34-7 advantage in turnover margin, which led to a 45-2 scoring edge in points off turnovers.
