TCU Coach Neil Dougherty:
On the start of the second half:
"I think a couple things kind of helped us out. First I think we came out and played real solid defense. I think just initially looking at this game, the big fear in the first half was to get through with as minimal foul trouble, particularly to our big guys, because we're just not real deep there right now and we needed them on the floor. Once we got through half I think we changed a little bit, opened things up defensively, became more aggressive, and it was more suitable and comfortable for us. So we had some good defensive stands, and then offensively all of a sudden we became much more relaxed, and much more calm, and made some nice plays there.
On missed opportunities
"I think when you coach a game, you tend to remember the things that got away from you so yeah, but that's looking at your own team. They did some really nice things, regardless of how imperfect the game was. They had one player who was almost absolutely perfect. When someone goes six of seven from three, that's close to perfect. They weren't easy looks, he knocked them in. When you make shots with five seconds or less on the shot clock, boy that knocks the wind out of you a little bit."
Texas Tech Coach Bob Knight
On difference between last year's team and this year's:
"Our main objective when we started this season was to be better than we were last season. I'm not so sure, the last two games, we've done something that's really positive out of the negatives. That is we played well in the first half both games, with UTEP and TCU. We came off the floor with a 14-point lead in both cases, and in both cases we lost that lead. The thing I focus on is that I don't think last year's team could have won either of these games."
