Adam Linens arrived at TCU in June of 2025 as a senior assistant director of human performance at TCU.
In his role, Linens oversees all aspects of sports performance for the Horned Frog women's basketball program, including strength and conditioning, performance testing and individual programming. Linens also collaborates with the TCU sports medicine staff on player rehabilitation, injury prevention and corrective exercise.
A 20-year veteran of the industry, Linens arrived in Fort Worth following a six-year appointment as the head strength and conditioning coach for the Charlotte Hornets. Linens previously served as the lead strength and conditioning coach for Oregon basketball for four seasons from 2015-18. He most recently spent the 2024-25 season as the director of sports performance for Queens University of Charlotte.
Linens has developed five NBA Draft picks and three WNBA Draft selections over the course of his career. He coached four All-Americans and three Pac-12 players of the year in his work with both Oregon basketball programs. Linens led the Ducks to a trio of Pac-12 championships during his tenure in Eugene, highlighted by a sweep of the women's regular season and tournament titles in 2017-18. With Linens on staff, Oregon men's basketball reached the Final Four for the first time in school history in 2017. Linens additionally helped stake the men's program to an Elite Eight in 2016 and enjoyed a quarterfinal run on the women's side in 2018.
While in Charlotte, Linens was responsible for the design and implementation of performance enhancement and evaluation for individual players. Linens designed the Hornets' return to play program alongside the medical staff and facilitated pre-draft testing during the NBA Combine for potential NBA Draft picks.
In 2017-18, Linens oversaw human performance for both Oregon basketball programs, where he worked closely with TCU women's basketball head coach Mark Campbell, who served as associate head coach of the Ducks. That year, Linens coached Sabrina Ionescu, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft, along with top-10 selections Satou Sabally (No. 2) and Ruthy Hebard (No. 8).
In addition to Ionescu, Linens mentored Pac-12 Players of the Year Dillon Brooks (2017) and Payton Pritchard (2020), both of whom were selected in the NBA Draft. He also coached 2017 NBA picks Chris Boucher, Jordan Bell and Tyler Dorsey.
Prior to venturing to the pacific northwest, Linens accumulated 10 years worth of experience in strength and conditioning and athletic training with teams in the NBA, WNBA and NBA G League. He worked as a strength and conditioning coach and assistant athletic trainer for the Canton Charge of the NBA G-League in 2014-15. Linens previously enjoyed stints with the Atlanta Hawks and the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA, as well as the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream.
A North Carolina native, Linens earned a bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science from UNC in 2005. He completed a master's degree exercise science and health promotion from California University of Pennsylvania in 2014.
Linens is a registered strength and conditioning coach (RSCC) and certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Associatio, as well as a certified athletic trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. He is also certified as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) & Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and holds a Precision Nutrition Certification – Level 1 certification.
