Thomas Montigel is in his 12th season with TCU men’s basketball, his 10th season overseeing the program’s operations as Assistant Athletics Director, Men’s Basketball Operations.
Montigel takes pride in ensuring the efficient logistical operations of the program, with responsibilities that include scheduling nonconference games, managing and executing team travel logistics, overseeing the program’s budget and serving as the director of the Jamie Dixon Basketball Camps, liaison to the Fast Break Club, budget manager and team travel coordinator.
In 2024, Montigel was named the Intercollegiate Athletics Division winner of the Chancellor’s Staff Award for “outstanding service, highlighting significant contributions to TCU and serving as an inspiration to the community. That same year, he was honored on Silver Waves Media’s “Top 50 Rising Stars” list, celebrating Assistant Athletic Directors who have made a tremendous impact at their universities.
Previously, Montigel worked as a graduate assistant from 2014-16, having been a four-year letterman for the Horned Frogs between 2011-14.
The Fort Worth native earned his undergraduate degree with a double major in finance and entrepreneurial management and a master’s degree in liberal arts from TCU, followed by an MBA from the Neeley School of Business in 2021. In 2018, he was named one of the NABC Under Armour 30-under-30, recognizing him as a rising leader in college basketball operations and coaching.
