
No. 8 TCU Rolls Past UIW 84-56 for 30th Straight Home Win

Miles breaks NCAA record for consecutive 15-and-5 games to start a season
FORT WORTH – Donovyn Hunter scored a career-high 21 points, Olivia Miles broke an NCAA record and No. 8 TCU coasted past Incarnate Word 84-56 on Wednesday at Schollmaier Arena.
It was the 30th straight home victory for TCU – tied for the longest streak in all of Division I – and lifted the Horned Frogs to their third consecutive 9-0 start to a season.
Hunter and Miles were two of three players to score in double figures for the Frogs, who never trailed and led by as many as 30 late in the ballgame.
Marta Suarez hammered home a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double while Miles paired 15 points with six assists.
Miles posted her ninth consecutive game with at least 15 points and five assists. She set the NCAA record for the longest streak of 15-and-5 games to open a season by a Power Four conference player, topping Kristi Toliver of Maryland's run of eight straight in 2007-08.
The three TCU players have quickly formed one of the NCAA's elite trifectas. Hunter, Suarez and Miles all scored in double figures for the eighth game. Wednesday's effort signified the seventh time this season the trio has teamed up for 50-plus.
Hunter notched her second 20-point performance of the season. She knocked down 7-11 looks from the field and a trio of 3-pointers.
TCU again was never challenged in large part to a swift and decisive first quarter scoring run. The Horned Frogs raced ahead to an 18-6 lead entering the first media timeout with 3:39 left. Suarez and Clara Silva tallied six points apiece in the spurt. TCU began the ballgame 9-12 from the field.
Incarnate Word (1-5) countered with nine unanswered to get within a single possession. Taylor Bigby swung the momentum back TCU's way with a buzzer-beating 3-pointr from the left baseline off a dish from Miles.
The Cardinals stayed within five points of the Horned Frogs deep into the second quarter. A 9-0 run over the final 2:08 sparked by consecutive 3-pointers from Hunter and Bigby closed the half and staked TCU to a 44-30 edge at the intermission.
Hunter, Miles and Suarez were responsible for 31 of TCU's first half points.
TCU held UIW to just three field goals in the third quarter as the Frogs stretched their lead to 19.
Hunter accounted for nine of TCU's 26 points in the final frame.
TCU finished with 24 assists while shooting 50 percent from the field (33-66). The Horned Frogs have dished out 20-or-more assists in all six of their home victories.
Maddie Scherr paired a game and season-high eight assists with eight points and five rebounds. Scherr dished out five of her assists over the first 12 minutes of the contest.
Hunter chipped in five assists while finishing with no turnovers.
Suarez led all players on the glass as TCU outrebounded Incarnate Word 38-31.
TCU transformed 12 offensive rebounds, including 11 in the second half, into a 48-24 advantage in points in the paint.

The Horned Frogs defeated the Miners 85-56 on Nov. 23, 2023 during the St. Pete Showcase in the programs' most recent meeting. The victory was a part of TCU and head coach Mark Campbell's record-setting 14-0 start to his inaugural season.
Saturday's ballgame will tip off at 1 p.m. and air on ESPN+. The Horned Frogs will sign postgame autographs on the arena floor following the final whistle.
