Frogs look to continue strong start to 2024 season
ARLINGTON, Texas – TCU cross country is back in action after sweeping the team and individual titles last weekend at the John McKenzie invitational. The Distance Frogs look to continue their strong start to the 2024 season at the UTA Gerald Richey Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Racing at Lynn Creek Park and Joe Pool Lake, TCU is set to compete in the Mavericks' home meet for the fourth straight season and fifth time in the last six years. The Horned Frogs have historically raced well in Arlington. The men won the invitational last season, while the women have produced three of the last four individual champs (2019, 2022 and 2023).
Last weekend, TCU saw both the men and women run their way to victory, led by individual wins by Tabitha Ngao and Graydon Morris. As a team, 10 athletes logged personal best times and 11 made their TCU debuts.
Nago won the women's 5k title in 2023 at the Gerald Richey Invitational. She'll look to defend her crown this season and lead the Frogs to their second team victory of the season. Racing alongside her this season, is a balanced mix of returners and newcomers, including Mckenzie Bailey, Peyten Woodruff, Ava Santora and Jordan White, who all finished inside the top 10 a week ago.
The TCU men were sharp in week one, grabbing each of the top five spots for an easy 15-point sweep. The senior trio of Morris, Stone Burke and Noah Winters anchored the Frogs. They'll aim to repeat their success this weekend with plenty of runners in the mix.
