Horned Frogs begin play vs. Oklahoma State in second round on Friday
FORT WORTH – TCU's postseason run begins on Friday with a 9-seed vs. 8-seed battle with Oklahoma State in the second round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship.
The Horned Frogs secured the No. 9 seed and a first round bye after closing out the regular season with wins in four of their last five outings.
TCU's Jan. 6 meeting with Oklahoma State proved to be the difference in the team's seeding, as the Cowgirls finished one game ahead in the league tables. Oklahoma State knocked off TCU 67-59 in Fort Worth in the Horned Frogs first of 11 games without All-Big 12 center and Lisa Leslie Award finalist Sedona Prince.
The Horned Frogs will draw regular season champion and No. 1 seed Oklahoma in Saturday's quarterfinals should they defeat the Cowgirls. TCU's side of the 14-team bracket also features No. 4 seed Iowa State and fifth-seeded Baylor.
