Protect the Purple
The Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center is arguably the toughest venue in the nation for opposing teams to compete at. TCU has amassed a 106-12 (.898) record on the purple courts since 2015. Of the 106 victories, 68 have come at the expense of ranked opponents. Under head coach David Roditi, the Horned Frogs have posted a remarkable 146-36 (.802) home record.
Doubles Delight
No program nationwide has been as dominant in doubles play as TCU over the last two seasons.
Since the 2022 campaign commenced, TCU has gone 45-7 in doubles. The Horned Frogs enjoyed a program-record and nation-leading doubles point streak of 18 between the 2022 NCAA Tournament and the start of the 2023 outdoor season.
Court by court, the Horned Frogs are 29-10 on court one, 32-10 out of the No. 2 post and own a 32-8 record in the third flight.
Obtaining the doubles point has proven a near-certain pathway to victory over the last two seasons. TCU is 40-3 when assuming a 1-0 lead on the scoreboard. This season, the Horned Frogs are 18-1 when winning the doubles point.
The Longest Streak of ITA Top-10 Team Rankings in the Country
TCU is the only program in the country that has finished in the top-10 of the final ITA team rankings for eight consecutive seasons. Three years, one month and three weeks have passed since TCU dropped out of the top-10 of the ITA team rankings. In fact, the Horned Frogs are enjoying the longest consecutive streak of weeks ranked in the top-10 of any Division I program. TCU has boasted a top-10 ITA team ranking for 167 consecutive weeks, dating back to March 10, 2020.
The Best Boss in Big 12 History
David Roditi now stands alone amongst his Big 12 head coaching peers.
Roditi was named Big 12 Coach of the Year for the fifth time since 2015 on Apr. 28. His five selections are the most received by any Big 12 head coach since the conference's inception in 1997.
In addition to ranking first on the Big 12 record book in career Big 12 Coach of the Year accolades, Roditi is the only head coach to win the award five times in an eight-year period. He claimed the honor in three consecutive seasons from 2015-2017 and received the recognition in 2022.
Five Plane Tickets to Orlando, Please
TCU's ultimate goal remains the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Team Championship, but should the Horned Frogs fall short in the Big Dance, the program will still be well-represented at the national championships.
The Horned Frogs had four singles players and two doubles teams selected to compete at the NCAA Individual Singles and Doubles Championships.
Luc Fomba and Jake Fearnley received the No. 2 seed in the 32-pair doubles bracket. Both players also garnered at-large berths to the 64-player singles field. TCU's No. 22-ranked doubles pair of Sander Jong and Lui Maxted were awarded an at-large bid into the doubles tournament. Additionally, Jong and Jack Pinnington were named two of 10 alternates for the singles championship should there be withdrawals.
By earning seeded positioning, both Fomba and Fearnley achieved automatic ITA All-American status in doubles for 2023.
Make it Five for Fomba
Luc Fomba attained his fifth career ITA All-American citation with his seeded selection to the NCAA Doubles Championships alongside Jake Fearnley. Fomba received the recognition in both singles and doubles in 2021 and 2022. His five All-American credentials rank third outright in program history. Should Fomba earn the distinction in singles, he will match Paul Robinson and David Pate as the most decorated All-American TCU has produced.
Gorzny the Great
Sebastian Gorzny garnered an All-Big 12 Conference accolade on Apr. 25 that only three Horned Frogs have ever received.
Gorzny, who posted a 36-7 combined season record in 2022-2023, was crowned Big 12 Freshman of the Year in conjunction with the annual unveiling of Postseason All-Big 12 Conference awards.
The Austin native became the first TCU freshman to be selected for the citation in seven years. He joins All-Americans Guillermo Nunez (2015) and Alex Rybakov (2016) as the only players in TCU's 11-year Big 12 era to be chosen as the conference's top first-year player.

Inside the Fort Worth Regional
- TCU is hosting an NCAA Regional for the seventh consecutive season. The Horned Frogs are 14-0 in first and second round tilts under David Roditi. TCU last fell in the opening round of the Big Dance in May 2010 - three months before Roditi began his head coaching tenure.
- The Horned Frogs were awarded the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, marking the third straight season the program has received a national seed. TCU claimed the No. 1 overall seed in 2022 and was seeded seventh in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
- TCU's streak of eight consecutive postseason appearances is the second-longest in program history, trailing only the program's run of 16 straight NCAA Tournament selections from 1991-2006.
- Friday's dual between TCU and UTA will be the second time the Horned Frogs have hosted the Mavericks in the round of 64. TCU and UTA first met in the NCAA Tournament on May 12, 2001. TCU won the match 4-0. The Horned Frogs went on to advance to their second-ever NCAA Championship semifinals.
- The Horned Frogs are 1-0 all-time vs. the Aggies in postseason play and 1-1 opposite the Mustangs in the Big Dance.
- TCU owns regular season victories over SMU and UTA. The Horned Frogs shut out SMU 5-0 on Jan. 16 on the indoor courts, then blanked UTA 7-0 on March 3 to commence the outdoor season. Neither team was able to take a set from the Horned Frogs.
- The Horned Frogs are riding respective winning streaks of 14 over SMU and 13 at the expense of UTA. TCU has won seven of its last eight duals against Texas A&M, including three straight in Fort Worth.
- TCU is the lone Division I program to have maintained a top-three ITA team ranking for the entirety of 2023.
- The Horned Frogs are outscoring opponents 107-21 through 24 matches. TCU has notched 15 victories over ranked teams by a combined 71-10 margin of victory. Only three teams - Texas, Kentucky and North Carolina - have scored multiple points vs. TCU.
- The Horned Frogs have claimed the doubles point in 25 of their last 27 outings dating back to the 2022 NCAA Tournament. TCU enjoyed a nation-leading and program record streak of 18 straight doubles points from May 5, 2022-March 19, 2023. TCU is 47-7 in doubles play over the last two seasons.
- Building an early lead in doubles has been a near-certain pathway to victory. TCU has won 19-of-20 matches when claiming the first completed doubles set. The Horned Frogs have trailed in doubles just three times in 2023 (vs. No. 2 Kentucky, vs. No. 19 Illinois, vs. No. 3 Texas).
- Luc Fomba has clinched half of TCU's doubles points (11-21) this season between three partners (Jake Fearnley, Lui Maxted, Luke Swan). Sebastian Gorzny and Pedro Vives own four doubles point clinchers while Sander Jong and Jack Pinnington have staked TCU to a 1-0 match lead an equal number of times.
- In singles action, TCU has won 198-of-263 (.753) completed sets thus far in 2023. The Horned Frogs boast winning records in singles play vs. every opponent on their schedule. Texas is the lone program who has proven capable of competing with TCU. The Horned Frogs are 28-55 (.509) vs. the Longhorns in completed singles sets. Excluding the teams' quartet of duals, TCU has come out on top in 170-208 (.817) completed singles sets.
- TCU produced a conference-leading and program-record 11 postseason All-Big 12 conference citations on Apr. 28. David Roditi was honored as Big 12 coach of the Year for the fifth time in TCU's 11-year Big 12 era. Sebastian Gorzny garnered Freshman of the Year accolades. The Horned Frogs received a program record seven All-Conference singles and doubles selections.
- Fomba, now a five-time All-Big 12 first team honoree, and Gorzny have been especially dominant in 2022-2023, as they each command respective overall records of 39-8 and 36-7. Fearnley has tallied a team-leading 22 singles wins throughout 2022-2023.
- Jong leads TCU in spring singles victories (15). He is 8-0 out of the No. 4 post and has earned three wins apiece on courts one and two.
