FORT WORTH – Jaden Owens, a consensus five-star recruit coming out of Plano West High School in 2019, is returning home to conclude her collegiate career.
Owens signed a financial aid agreement to join TCU women's basketball as a graduate student for the 2023-2024 season as announced by head coach Mark Campbell.
A 5-8 guard, Owens brings 109 career collegiate appearances with her to Fort Worth. Owens spent the last three seasons at Baylor after signing with UCLA out of high school ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.
She took the reins of the Lady Bears offense last winter, starting as Baylor's primary ball handler in 30-of-32 contests. Owens averaged a career-high eight points, 5.8 assists and 3.3 rebounds per outing. She led the Lady Bears in both assists per game and total assists (184).
Owens was one of the nation's elite facilitators. She was consistently ranked in the top-20 among all NCAA Division I players in assists and assists per game. Owens concluded the 2022-2023 season ranked 15th nationally in assists per game and 16th in assists.
Her court vision engineered 11 performances with seven-or-more assists. She reached double figures in assists four times, highlighted by a memorable 12-assist, 11-point double-double in her first collegiate start opposite Lamar on Nov. 7. Owens followed up the breakthrough effort with her second career double-double vs. St. Louis on Nov. 12, tallying 11 points and 10 dimes. She dished out a career-high 14 assists vs. then-No. 16 Oklahoma on Feb. 7 and cracked double figures in dimes once more opposite an NCAA Tournament participant behind a 10-assist effort at Iowa State on Feb. 18.

As a junior, Owens navigated a lingering injury to help the Lady Bears hoist the Big 12 regular season championship. Owens suited up in all 32 contests, averaging 18.2 minutes per outing.
Owens' first season in Waco saw her average 2.4 points, 2.2 assists and one rebound per contest across 17 games played. She boasted a 4.81 assist-to-turnover ratio while shooting 35 percent from behind the arc.

Owens is among the most decorated prep point guards the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex has produced over the last half-decade.

TCU's complete 2023 recruiting class now stands at seven players. The Horned Frogs publicized the signings of incoming freshmen Jade Clack (Austin HS) and Victoria Flores (Duncanville HS) in November.
