
Frogs Sign Three Experienced Transfers

All three have scored 1,000 career points
Three 1,000-point scorers, Essam Mostafa, Jameer Nelson Jr. and Trevian Tennyson, will join the Horned Frogs for the 2023-24 season.
Mostafa is a 6-foot-9 center from Cairo, Egypt and spent the last four seasons at Coastal Carolina. Last season, Mostafa averaged 12.4 points and led the Sun Belt Conference with 10.0 rebounds. He also shot a team-best 55.2 percent from the field. In the 2021-22 season, he averaged 13.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. After redshirting the 2019-20 season, Mostafa averaged 12.2 points and 8.9 rebounds in his first season with the Chanticleers. In the three seasons he played at Coastal Carolina, Mostafa has scored 1,067 points.
Nelson is a 6-1 guard from Haverford, Penn., and spent the past two seasons at Delaware. He led the Colonial Athletic Association with 20.6 points and 2.4 steals per game last season and also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. In the 2021-22 season, Nelson led the team with 13.6 points per game. Prior to Delaware, Nelson spent two seasons at George Washington and has totaled 1,454 points in his career.
Tennyson is a 6-4 guard from Arlington, Texas and spent the last two seasons at Texas A&M Corpus Christi where he led the Islanders in scoring with 15.7 points per game, including 18.6 in Southland Conference games. Tennyson broke the Texas A&M Corpus Christi school record for most 3-pointers in a season with 100 and shot 40.2 percent from three. In his two seasons as an Islander, Tennyson earned all-conference honors twice, including a spot on the second team last season.
Prior to A&M-Corpus Christi, Tennyson was at Ranger College for one year and at Central Connecticut State as a freshman. In high school, he starred at Mansfield Legacy where he averaged 24.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
Mansfield Legacy is also home to incoming freshman Isaiah Manning, who signed in the fall with Jace Posey from Houston.
