Miller's season-high and Miles double-double lead Frogs in top 20 showdown
FORT WORTH - No. 17 TCU rolled over No. 11 Kansas State, 82-68, Saturday afternoon in Schollmaier Arena.
Senior Emanuel Miller led all players with a career-high 23 points to go with eight rebounds. Junior guard Mike Miles Jr. recorded his first-career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 11 assists for the Horned Frogs (14-4, 3-2) who snapped a two-game losing skid.
Sophomore center Eddie Lampkin Jr. had his best game of the season with a season-best 17 points to go with six rebounds, including four on the offensive end. Lampkin and Miller helped TCU control the action down low where TCU outscored KSU in the paint, 54-40.
Entering the game as the nation's top transition team, the Horned Frogs pushed the pace, especially late in the first half with the help of two double-digit runs. TCU led by as many as 15 in the first half, but held a 43-29 advantage at halftime.
Rondel Walker made his only basket, a 3-pointer, to give TCU its largest lead of the game, 62-37, with 10:49 to play.
KSU (15-2, 4-1) cut its deficit to 12 points, 78-64, with seven-straight points by Marquis Nowell. However, the Wildcats, who committed 20 turnovers, never got any closer as TCU won its third game over a Top 25 team this season.
The Horned Frogs will play their next two games on the road, starting on Wednesday at West Virginia at 6 p.m. CT on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
