TCU hosts second home tournament this weekend
FORT WORTH -- No. 3 TCU beach volleyball (15-0) returns to home to host the Fight in the Fort, March 18-19. The Horned Frogs will face four opponents this weekend, New Orleans, Arizona State (RV), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (RV) and Louisiana Monroe. All matches are open to the public.

FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs are coming off a perfect showing and championship victory at Outrigger Queen's Cup tournament in Manoa, Hawaii. The Frogs won all six matches this weekend, including three victories over Top 10 opponents – No. 9 Hawaii and No. 10 California (twice). TCU won 25 of the 30 sets throughout the tournament, winning five matches 4-1 and sweeping Nebraska, 5-0.
In the previous home tournament, TCU claimed four ranked wins over No. 16 Stetson, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 19 Georgia State and its first Top-5 win in program history over No. 3 Florida State. The Frogs are currently on a 20-match home winning streak dating back to the 2020 season (March 6, 2020).
TCU will take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi this weekend for the Frogs' first in-state match of the season. TCU is 24-0 all-time against schools from the state of Texas and became the first Beach Volleyball program from Texas in NCAA history to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
The No. 1 pairing of Daniela Alvarez and Tania Moreno lead the team with 14 wins this season (14-1). They are one of three pairs to boast a winning percentage of .900 or better this year, alongside Megan Muret/Rochelle Scott (10-1) and Maria Gonzalez/Ana Vergara (9-1). Gonzalez and Vergara won their first nine matches of the season together, setting the program record for the longest winning streak to start a season. Muret also set a program record last weekend, winning her 11 matches of the season to set records for the best individual start to a season and the longest individual winning streak ever achieved by a Horned Frog.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
New Orleans enters play, 8-4, coming off a 2-2 showing at the Tulane Classic in New Orleans. The Privateers look down Nichols 4-1 and Southern Miss 3-2 but fell to Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and Tulane, both 1-4. They have yet to face a ranked opponent this season.
Arizona State, 7-5, travels to Forth Worth off a 2-2 showing at the Cal Poly Tournament in San Louis Obispo, California. The Sand Devils took down San Jose State 5-0 and Washington 4-1. They suffered losses, 0-5, to both No. 6 LMU and No. 11 Cal Poly.
TAMUCC travels to TCU 9-4 off a 3-1 weekend in New Orleans for the Tulane Classic. The Islanders took down New Orleans, 4-1, UAB, 3-2 and Nicholls, 5-0. Their sole loss of the weekend came from a 2-3 deficit to Tulane. TAMUCC has yet to beat a ranked opponent this season.
Louisiana Monroe, 4-7, comes to Fort Worth off a 1-3 showing at the Gamecock Grand Slam in Columbia, South Carolina. The Warhawks defeated Mercer 4-1 but suffered huge losses to No. 15 Pepperdine, No. 19 South Carolina and No. 5 LSU all 0-5. ULM has not beaten a ranked opponent this season.
