
TCU Outlasts George Washington, 70-58

FORT WORTH – The TCU women's basketball team evened its record to 4-4 on the season after a 70-58 victory over George Washington on Monday night inside Schollmaier Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Senior guard Tomi Taiwo continued to lead TCU on the offensive end of the floor with another dominant performance. Taiwo started the game with back-to-back 3-point field goals in the first six minutes of action and would go on to finish with a game-high 20 points. Tara Manumaleuga recorded double-figures in scoring as she finished with 13 points, while Knisha Godfrey added 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field.
The Horned Frogs shot .420 percent from the field and .289 percent behind the arc. TCU found its way to the free-throw line 30 times and sank 22 free throws.
Mia Lakstigala led George Washington in scoring with 15 points.

"We knew there was going to be a lot of surge at the beginning of the game, and we couldn't be the ones on our heals. I really liked the group we had started the game with and they played really well together, especially on the defensive end of the floor," Coach Raegan Pebley said postgame.
