Hudson appointed as director of operations, Sopak enters third year with program
FORT WORTH – TCU women's basketball head coach Mark Campbell announced the additions of Hanna Hudson and Leah Sopak to the Horned Frogs' coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Hudson becomes the program's director of operations, a position she held at New Mexico for the past four seasons. A native of Grandview, Texas, Hudson assumed the role in 2022 following a four-year playing career at East Texas Baptist.
Sopak was promoted to a full-time role after completing a two-year appointment as a graduate assistant for Campbell and TCU from 2024-26. She will now serve as director of recruiting operations and student-athlete development while also possessing coaching responsibilities, including opponent scouting, video coordination and practice support.
Hudson's role was multi-faceted during her tenure with New Mexico. She streamlined the day-to-day operations of the program, with responsibilities that included travel coordination, opponent scheduling and budget management. The Lobos finished with a winning record in each of Hudson's four years on the sidelines, including a 22-9 mark in the 2025-26 season.
She appeared in 105 games and earned 74 starts on the hardwood at East Texis Baptist. Hudson received American Southwest Conference second team honors as a junior and was tabbed to the All-ASC freshman team in 2019.
Hudson earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree while minoring in religion along with a Master of Business Administration at East Texas Baptist.
Sopak and her family and Campbell have maintained a relationship for more than a decade. Sopak's father, Kelly Sopak, coached Sabrina Ionescu, whom Campbell recruited to Oregon during his tenure as associate head coach, in both club and prep ball for Cal Stars and at Miramonte High School. Campbell has recruited and coached many of Sopak's top players over the course of his nearly 20-year run as a women's coach.
He then brought Leah Sopak to Fort Worth following her four-year playing career at Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Washington. Sopak learned all areas of the coaching industry and played a supporting role on the two greatest TCU basketball teams in school history during her graduate assistantship.
Sopak helped the Horned Frogs win three Big 12 championships, including back-to-back undisputed regular season titles, notch consecutive NCAA Elite Eight berths and twice finish with the No. 6 overall ranking in The Associated Press poll from 2024-26. TCU competed to a 66-10 combined overall record across her two seasons as a graduate assistant, highlighted by a school record 34 wins during the 2024-25 campaign. Sopak has worked with six All-Big 12 players and five WNBA Draft picks since arriving in Fort Worth, including conference players of the year Hailey Van Lith and Olivia Miles.
Sopak played for her father in both prep and club basketball, guiding Miramonte High School to an 86-14 overall record in her three seasons as a varsity player. She helped Miramonte capture a North Coast Section CIF girls basketball state championship in 2017 and finish as state runner- her junior and senior years.
She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Saint Martin's in 2023 and graduated from TCU in 2025 with a Master of Science degree in criminology and criminal justice.
