Medley Kindred remains TCU's all-time leading scorer
FORT WORTH – The TCU women's basketball locker room will be renamed to "The Zahna Medley Kindred Women's Basketball Locker Room", the TCU Frog Club announced following an official dedication on Saturday, April 10.
The renaming of the locker room was given by the Nancy Tartaglino Richards family, who recognized Medley Kindred for her contributions to TCU, both on the court and off. As avid basketball fans, the Richards family have long admired the leadership and spirit of Medley Kindred, and her service to TCU as a role model and ambassador.
The Zahna Medley Kindred Women's Basketball Locker Room is among the first spaces at TCU named after a woman of color.
Medley Kindred was a four-year letterwinner for the Horned Frogs from 2012-16. The Springfield, Ill., native closed out her career at TCU as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,975 points. Medley Kindred also ranks among the program's all-time top-10 players in field goals made (2nd), three-pointers made (1st), free throw percentage (4th), games played (8th) and games started (2nd).
Medley Kindred was a four-time All-Big 12 Team selection, earning honorable mention honors as a true freshman in 2013 and then collecting first team accolades as a sophomore (2014), junior (2015) and senior (2016). In addition to her accolades on the court, Medley Kindred also excelled in the classroom where she was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 Team member.
Medley Kindred's achievements will be a lasting legacy, inspiring future women basketball players at TCU.
