LeDee's Game-Winner Lifts Frogs over Cowboys

RJ Nembhard leads all players with 20 points
FORT WORTH – Jaedon LeDee's game-winning fast-break layup and free throw with 2.2 seconds left lifted the TCU men's basketball team to an 81-78 win over Oklahoma State on Wednesday inside Schollmaier Arena.
The game featured 10 ties and 11 lead changes. TCU (10-7, 3-5 Big 12) was led by RJ Nembhard's game-high 20 points and seven assists. Oklahoma State (11-5, 4-5 Big 12) was led by Cade Cunningham's 19 points, all of which came in the second half.
The Frogs jumped out to an 18-10 lead through the first 8:09 of play after making six of their first 10 shots. The Cowboys responded with an 11-0 run over the next 3:17 to take a 21-18 lead. OSU stretched its lead to as many as four, but TCU scored the last four points of the half to tie the score at 34-34.
The Horned Frogs outscored the Cowboys 22-12 over the first eight minutes of the second half to take their largest lead of the game at 56-46. Oklahoma State fought back to take the lead at 67-66 with 4:36 left to play. OSU stretched its lead to three on two separate occasions with under three minutes to play, but TCU responded with a 3-pointer to tie the score each time.
With TCU trailing 78-76 with 24 seconds remaining, Miles raced down the court to make an acrobatic layup with 17 seconds to play. Solid defense from freshman Taryn Todd forced a missed shot from Cunningham with 12 seconds remaining. Todd grabbed the missed shot and threw a cross-court pass to LeDee, who drove to the rim and made a go-ahead layup while absorbing a foul with 2.2 seconds to play. LeDee made his free throw, and the TCU defense forced a missed desperation heave from Cunningham as time expired to seal an 81-78 win.

- Prior to and throughout the game, TCU honored Dr. James Cash, who played at TCU for three seasons (1966-69) and was the first African-American to play basketball in the Southwest Conference.

- The Frogs outrebounded the Cowboys 35-28 to improve to 8-3 this season and 79-25 under Jamie Dixon when outrebounding their opponents.
