TCU snaps three-game home winning streak to Baylor
FORT WORTH – TCU led at the half, but could not overcome turnovers and poor shooting in a 67-49 loss to No. 2 Baylor on Saturday inside Schollmaier Arena.
Freshman Mike Miles led TCU (9-4, 2-3 Big 12) with 17 points, 15 of which came in the first half. Junior RJ Nembhard recorded his 10th consecutive game scoring in double-figures with 14 points. Baylor (11-0, 4-0 Big 12) was led by Jared Butler's season-high 28 points and career-high five steals.
Both teams played stellar defense in the first half. TCU held Baylor to 40.7 percent shooting, including 1-of-10 from 3-point range, while the Bears held the Frogs to 33.3 percent shooting and forced 12 TCU turnovers. In the closing seconds of the first half, the TCU defense forced a Baylor turnover, and Miles hit a shot from 60-feet as time expired to give the Frogs a 28-27 lead over the Bears at the half. The buzzer-beater ended a field goal drought of almost seven minutes.
Baylor went on a 13-4 run over the first four minutes of the second half to take a 40-32 lead. The Frogs cut their deficit back down to three at 45-42 with 10:20 remaining, but the Bears responded with a 16-4 run to take a 61-46 with 4:48 remaining. The TCU offense struggled down the stretch, missing eight of its final 10 shots of the contest. The Horned Frogs were outscored 40-21 in the second half and totalled a season-high 22 turnovers for the game.

- Today's game marked the first time in program history that TCU hosted top 10 teams in consecutive games. TCU hosted No. 6 Kansas in its previous game on Tuesday.
