TCU will finish its spring break road trip by traveling to Corpus Christi for a tournament.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The No. 20 TCU beach volleyball team will finish off its spring break road trip by taking part in the Islander Beach Volleyball Classic on Saturday, March 16 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The Horned Frogs (6-8) will open with tournament host Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 9 a.m., before concluding the tournament by facing UNC-Wilmington at 11:30 a.m., at Water's Edge Park in downtown Corpus Christi.
TCU Notables
TCU started spring break at the East Meets West Challenge at the Manhattan Beach Pier where the team faced four of the top five ranked teams in the country. The Frogs dropped all four matches but were able to nab a point against Hawaii and Pepperdine. The team then traveled north to Malibu to take on Pepperdine again and LMU and were able to score a 3-2 victory over the No. 13 Lions to end action in California. Avery Arellano and Hailey Brockett have been hot at the No. 5 spot with the duo winning three matches while on the west coast.
The Competition
Texas A&M Corpus Christi went 1-3 in its last weekend of competition as the Islanders dropped matches to Spring Hill College (4-1), New Orleans (3-2) and UAB (4-1) before scoring a 4-1 victory over Austin Peay. The Islanders have four wins overall this season and are 3-1 when playing at home.
UNC-Wilmington has only notched one win on the season as the team scored a 5-0 sweep of Saint Leo in its opening weekend of action. Three separate pairs have picked up a team-best two wins on the season while individually, Halle Hunt leads Seahawks with five wins overall this season.
