FORT WORTH — TCU's swimming and diving teams bested the University of the Incarnate Word in its third dual meet of the season. The men won, 159-135, while the women claimed a 166-134 victory.
Record Breaker
Izzy Ashdown broke two school record en route to first-place finishes on both boards. On 1-Meter, Ashdown's 323.625 bested Kirsten Connolly's 2016 record of 321.30. In 3-Meter, the Sydney, Australia native's 362.175 edged Kelly Seely's 360.15 that had stood since 2006.
NCAA Zone Cuts
Connie Deighton registered her first NCAA qualifying scores of the season on both boards. The sophomore scored a 276 on 1-Meter and 306.375 on 3-Meter. Last season against the Cardinals, Deighton had a stellar day on the boards for the Frogs, sweeping the 1- and 3- meter dives.
Ashdown's record-breaking scores also garnered her NCAA Zone cuts.
Two's Better Than One
Three Horned Frogs won two individual events against the Cardinals.
Noah Cumby took the 100 Free (46.20) and 200 Free (1:40.38).
Senior and team captain Claire Munster won the 50 Free (23.78) and 100 Free (51.98).
Janis Silins finished first in the 100 Breast (55.56) and 200 Breast (2:02.45).
Both Cumby and Silins also contributed to the 200 Medley Relay team that claimed first place. Munster was a part of the first place women's 200 Medley team as well.
