COLLEGE STATION, Texas – TCU's men's and women's cross-country teams will continue their seasons Saturday morning at the Texas A&M Invitational.
MEET INFO
The meet is scheduled for 8 a.m. with the men's 8,000m followed by the women's 6,000m at 8:45 a.m. The meet will take place at Dale Watts Cross Country course. For any fans traveling to the meet, admission is free. Results from the races will be available online via Flash Results.
TCU will compete against several South Central region schools, including host-Texas A&M, Houston, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, LSU, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, Tulane, UTRGV. TCU's women rank No.5 in the South Central region, highest in the field of Saturday's teams.
LAST TIME OUT
The Horned Frogs began the season at the Baylor Twilight Invitational, where the women opened with a strong showing in the 4,000m. Evelyn Mandel and Lindsay Tomaini were the first Horned Frogs to run the 4,000m under 14 minutes since 2012. Kirsten Johnston and Elizabeth Baker finished 10th and 12th in Waco, improving their career 4,000m marks by 26 and 14 seconds respectively.
The men's team was led by a pair of freshmen. Sean Byrne finished 11th overall, followed by Lakelin Conrad in 13th. Patrick LaCour shaved 24 seconds off of his 2017 6,000m time and finished 30th.
