FORT WORTH, Texas - Seniors Jordan Moore and Amy Okonkwo combined to score 38 points as the TCU women's basketball team rolled to a season-opening win over Atlantic 10 Conference favorite Duquesne, 61-48, at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena on Tuesday.

TCU used a 16-2 run that stretched from the final 4:19 of the first half and opening 2:58 of the second to pull comfortably ahead, 34-18.
Starting for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign, Okonkwo posted her eighth career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Moore was nearly perfect from the floor, finishing 11-for-12 for 22 points and had six rebounds and two steals. She made her first nine shots in the win and now needs just 18 points to become the 18th player in TCU history to reach the 1,000 career points milestone.
Stat of the Game
10 – Kianna Ray finished with a career-high 10 assists in the victory, the most by a TCU player since A.J. Alix also had 10 against UT Rio Grande Valley on Jan. 2, 2016.
Quote of the Day
TCU Head Coach Raegan Pebley
"It's great when you can start out 1-0, especially when you are able to get a win against such a great, quality, well-coached team with so many returners like Duquesne. They are from a good conference and one of the intentions in playing this team early is because they are good, the way they play was going to really help us prepare and because of RPI. I loved how our starters started the game. They really established a good defensive effort and the same group did a good job starting the second half as well."

TCU will host Mississippi Valley State at noon on Sunday, Nov. 11.
