Team Records, Game Notables and Series Information
TCU improves to 11-5 on the season with the win, including a 3-2 mark in Big 12 Conference play. Texas Tech is now 9-7 on the season with an 0-5 mark in Big 12 Conference games.
TCU has won seven of the last 10 games in the series.
TCU has posted its second sweep of Texas Tech in three seasons. The Frogs split the season series a year ago but won all three meetings between the teams in 2013-14.
TCU has won three straight against the Lady Raiders at home.
TCU recorded its fifth sweep of a Big 12 Conference opponent since joining the league in 2012-13.
Team Notes
TCU held Texas Tech to just 2-of-11 shooting in the second quarter and without a field goal in the first 5:26 of the quarter.
TCU hit its first five shots of the second quarter as part of a 13-0 run to open the period.
TCU forced 14 first half turnovers that resulted in 14 points for the Frogs.
TCU's 39 first half points were its most in the opening half of a league game this season and most since scoring 39 against West Virginia last season on Feb. 24 in Fort Worth. Only the 43 points scored against Oklahoma in the opening half of the Jan. 17 contest were more in the first half of a league game over the last two seasons.
TCU's defense held Texas Tech to just 3-of-23 shooting during a 17-minute span that covered the second quarter and most of the third period.
TCU's 21-point win was its largest in a league game since joining the Big 12 Conference. It surpassed two 20-point wins over Kansas State in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.
TCU has won seven of its last eight home games against Big 12 Conference opponents and are a combined 9-3 at home in Big 12 play over the last two seasons.
TCU is now 4-1 this season in bounce-back games. Bounce-back games are considered the game immediately following a loss. Under head coach Raegan Pebley, the Frogs are 14-4 in bounce-back games after posting a 10-3 record in her first season in Fort Worth.
Individual Notes
Senior Zahna Medley had 12 points and eight assists in the win.
o Medley continues to climb the Big 12 Conference's all-time scoring list and is now in 33rd place -- one spot behind TCU assistant coach Edwina Brown on the all-time list.
o Medley had her 40th career game with at least five assists in a game. o Medley had a season high eight assists, surpassing the seven she had against SMU on Nov. 18, 2015.
o Medley moved into sole possession of third place on the TCU career assists list and now has 447 in her career.
o Medley continues to climb the Big 12 Conference's career three-point list, moving into sole possession of seventh place on the career list with her second three-point field goal of the game in the second quarter. She passed Iowa State's Kelsey Bolte on the all-time list. Bolte hit 276 during her Cyclone career.
o Medley nailed her 50th three-point field goal of the season. Medley became the second player in program history to hit at least 50 three-point field goals in all four of their seasons playing for the Horned Frogs.
Senior Veja Hamilton had 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
o Hamilton reached double figures for the 36th time in her career and eighth time this season.
Junior Jada Butts had 12 points and three assists. o Butts reached double figures for the 10th time in her career and sixth time this season.
Coaching Notes
In her second year at TCU, head coach Raegan Pebley is now 30-18 as the leader of the Horned Frogs. She is now 186-193 in 13 seasons as a head coach.
Pebley improved to 3-1 against Texas Tech as a head coach.
