Postgame Quotes vs. New Orleans
Nov. 15, 2015
University Recreation Center; Fort Worth, Texas
TCU Head Coach Raegan Pebley
Opening Statement
"I loved our crowd tonight. I thought they were really engaged and involved in the game and helped create that energy. When you play quick games back-to-back and you've got your home crowd backing you up like that, it gives you a little extra energy. We wanted to see how we could run against a team that likes to run. We were able to take care of the ball. It was nice to get on the plus column on rebounds, especially considering there were many defensive rebounds to be had with the field goal defense."
On the offense...
"One of the things we are trying to do is play consistent basketball and not play the scoreboard. This year we have a lot of players that can [get the ball into the paint]. Veja [Hamilton] is doing a good job of getting in there and trying to get to the rim. Zahna [Medley] is doing a good job of getting in there, and we have bigs that are getting touches and collapsing defensive penetrations."
Senior Zahna MedleyOn the defense...
"We have a post presence this year, and we're using that to our advantage. We have [Destynee Hives-McCray], [Jordan Moore] and a lot of other freshmen that are coming in and being a big presence for us."
Redshirt Senior Destynee Hives-McCray
On the defense...
"I would say that the past couple of games we could have been tighter on defense, so defense has definitely been an emphasis in practice. Holding our opponents to low points, preparing for postseason tournaments and making sure that we beat opponents the way were are supposed, so we definitely made an effort to keep them low."
