FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU held New Orleans to just 12 points in the first half and rolled to an 85-36 win over the Privateers on Sunday afternoon in the University Recreation Center.
The Horned Frogs held New Orleans to just 36 points, the 11th fewest in a game in TCU history by an opponent, on a historic defensive day for TCU. The 12 points in the first half by New Orleans marked just the 10th time in program history that the Frogs had held a team to 12 points or less in a half. It was the first time it had happened since the 2010-11 season. The Frogs also limited the Privateers to just 20.0 percent shooting in the game, marking just the eighth time in school history to hold a team to 20.0 percent shooting or less in a contest.
Senior All-American candidate Zahna Medley had a game-high 21 points and six assists to lead the Frogs. She added four steals. Medley was one of four players to reach double figures for the Frogs. Sophomore Toree Thompson had 13 points while freshman Jordan Moore had 11 points and senior Destynee Hives-McCray had 10 points.
TCU scored the opening seven points of the game and led just 17-6 after one quarter before cranking up the intensity in the second quarter to lead 35-12 at the break. A run of 15-0 in the third quarter expanded a 20-point lead to 35 at 52-17 as TCU racked up its largest win of the Raegan Pebley era.
The Frogs, playing in the University Recreation Center during the completion of the new Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena, have won eight straight at home overall and 17 of their last 18 non-conference matchups at home.
STAT OF THE GAME

QUOTE OF THE GAME
"I loved our crowd tonight," said head coach Raegen Pebley. "I thought they were really engaged and involved in the game and helped create that energy. When you play quick games back-to-back and you've got your home crowd backing you up like that, it gives you a little extra energy. We wanted to see how we could run against a team that likes to run. We were able to take care of the ball. It was nice to get on the plus column on rebounds, especially considering there were many defensive rebounds to be had with the field goal defense."
NOTES
TCU scored 80 points or more in consecutive games for the second time in the Pebley era and first time since scoring 80 at Kansas and 81 against Oklahoma last year on Jan. 14 and Jan. 17, respectively.
