Recap | Final Stats | Notes
TCU Head Coach Jeff MittieOn the game:
"I told the team that 16 assists on 23 field goals is much better numbers than we have had the last couple of games. It was good to see Briesha Wynn and DeLisa Gross bust out and play good."
"I thought Antoinette (Thompson) was critical today in getting the ball out and making the offense quicker. Even though Starr (Crawford) struggled on offense, she still played a critical role in rebounding. Micah (Garoutte) was able to get out there and get a couple of rebounds that we have not been getting as well. Overall, we had a better effort and better performance, which resulted in a better result."
On the message said in the first half to get the team going:
"At that point, we were not dialed in to what we were supposed to be doing. They were getting layups and the extra chance shots. Offensively, we were not aggressive enough. We were not playing to the level we wanted to in the first half."
"I thought as the game progressed we did much better."
On DeLisa Gross' performance:
"I thought Delisa had better aggressiveness and played with balance on the court today."
On Briesha Wynn today:
"I thought Briesha was good today. She tends to be a gambler, but she gambled in the right spots today."
TCU Freshman Guard Briesha Wynn
On her role as a freshman:
"Since this is the second go around in conference, I feel like I need to be more locked in being a freshman. My focus needed to be there today. I did not know how I would play on offense, but I knew I could control my play on defense. I know that is my role."
On the spark she was able to give the team:
"I was able to anticipate the pass today, which helped."
TCU Sophomore Forward DeLisa Gross
On her big shots in the second half:
"I was able to get so many shots today because of the large number of assists. It all depends on us penetrating the ball and being able to kick the ball out. I think we did that well today."
On her shooting performance:
"I came in today feeling good about my shot. I knew I was in a good rhythm when I made my first three today. The whole day, I was able to be balanced and have my feet set, which allowed my shots to go in."
