TCU HEAD COACH Jeff Mittie
On what his team learned from the quick turnaround from Saturday's game to Monday's game
"I think it's good to have your team practice on a quick turn around. We practiced long yesterday, because we felt like we would have some advantages today. We were really more concerned about us getting right. We came out of Oklahoma concerned about our execution. I didn't feel like we had our legs under us today, but I didn't expect us to. We were able to work through some problems in this game, and I think what you get out of it the most is that you're able to put combinations out there and just say, "work through it." I thought we played better as the game went on."
On his team's performance improving as the game wore on
"I thought we settled for shots early in this game instead of going and getting shots. When we decided to go get better shots, that's when we started to assert ourselves. We couldn't hit any (3-pointers) early, even though we were open. We need to have a little better discipline during those stretches and turn those shots down. Once we started to do that we played a little better."
On TCU's balanced scoring
"You always like to have balanced scoring, but now what needs to come with that is better recognition of whose night it is."
JUNIOR GUARD Emily Carter
On the game's early tip-off time
"It was a little early, but we have a bunch of early games this year. We have some early games (later this week) in the Bahamas. I think it was good for us to get up early, have a good breakfast and stayed focused. I think a game like this was important for us to have"
