USAFA, Colo. -- The TCU Lady Frogs (13-9, 7-4 MWC) outlasted the Air Force Falcons (12-11, 3-9) by an 84-79 score Wednesday night at Clune Arena. Natasha Lacy poured in a career-high 31 points in a reserve role to pace the Frogs.
TCU was able to win despite committing a season-high 29 turnovers. The Lady Frogs offset that number by shooting 56.9 percent (29-for-51) from the field and 84.0 percent (21-for-25) from the charity stripe.
TCU led 21-10 in the early going and enjoyed a 12-point advantage in the second half, but the scrappy Falcons, who had just 33 points in a Saturday loss, hung in thanks to a well-balanced offensive attack that featured seven players with at least eight points. Air Force was down just one, 73-72, with less than four minutes remaining.
TCU improved to 6-1 all time against Air Force and picked up the program's first-ever Mountain West Conference season series sweep. The Lady Frogs' 84 points were the second most this season and the win kept TCU perfect (39-0) under head coach Jeff Mittie when scoring at least 80 points in regulation.
Adrianne Ross chipped in with 15 points, while Jenna Lohse scored 14. Lacy, who had the highest point total by a TCU player since Sandora Irvin had 32 against Oklahoma last season, also led the team in rebounds with six.
