
Davis tabbed MWC Player of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU's Ashley Davis was named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week on Monday. It marked the first time in Davis' career that she earned a weekly conference accolade and the second time a Lady Frog received the nod this season.Davis, a 6-0 junior forward from San Antonio, averaged 19 points per game last week in leading the Lady Frogs to wins over No. 18/18-ranked New Mexico and Air Force. Davis came off the bench to score a career-high 18 points against New Mexico on Wednesday and then topped it Saturday with 20 versus Air Force.
Davis nailed four 3-pointers in each of TCU's victories, moving her to within two of tying for fourth on the school's all-time list for makes with 118. Her 11 attempts slid her into a tie for fourth all-time with 343. Davis also shot 100 percent from the free-throw line in both games (8-for-8).
The Lady Frogs, who have won six of their last seven games, play at San Diego State on Wednesday at 9 p.m. CST.
