
TCU drops tight contest to Tulane, 56-52

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - In a tightly contested battle that featured nine lead changes and 12 ties Wednesday night, the TCU men's basketball team came up short against Tulane as the Frogs wrapped up their five-game stretch away from home.
TCU had three players score in double figures with senior Nile Murry leading the team with 18 points and eight rebounds. It was the ninth game in a row and fourth straight that the 6-foot-4 guard has posted double-digit points. He also finished with eight rebounds, six steals and two assists, while shooting 70 percent (7-of-10) from the free-throw line.
Blake Adams came off the bench for the second time this season, recording 11 points. The junior was 4-of-4 (1.000) from the charity stripe and grabbed a pair of rebounds.
Sophomore Brent Hackett finished with double digits for the third time this season as he added 10 points for the Frogs.
Tulane's Chris Moore scored 22 points and Andrew Garcia had his first double-double in the victory over TCU.
Moore hit 9-of-13 from the field, including four 3-pointers. Garcia had 10 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. He also had three steals and five assists.
Garcia got the ball to Moore, who hit a 3-pointer with 1:53 left to give Tulane a 53-50 lead. Garcia hit one of two free throws with 19 seconds left to make it 54-50. After Judson Stubbs hit a pair of free throws for TCU, Matt Wheaton countered with two free throws for Tulane (2-4) for the final score.
The Horned Frogs return to the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum this weekend for the first of a five-game homestand when they host Texas-Arlington on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m.
