Irvin Helps TCU Defeat Charlotte To Advance

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Sandora Irvin had 26 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks, and 16th-ranked TCU defeated Charlotte 89-73 Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA tournament.
Irvin's eight blocks for the Lady Frogs (23-5) set a tournament record for a game.
Tiffany Evans added 16 points, Kim Ortega 13 and Adrianne Ross 10. Natasha Lacy handed out 10 assists.
Peaches Harris led the 49ers (16-13) with 17 points, and LaShanta Johnson added 15.
Irvin scored 12 points and had seven rebounds in the first half as the Lady Frogs took a 50-33 lead at the break.
TCU held the 49ers to 31-percent shooting.
TCU advanced to Saturday's semifinals against the winner of the Louisville-Memphis game.
