Led the Big 12 with a 2.5 assist to turnover ratio with Oklahoma State last season
FORT WORTH – Jadyn Wooten is a Horned Frog and TCU women's basketball has landed its next elite playmaking guard.
Wooten, 5-6, enjoyed a two-year run with Oklahoma State from 2024-26. She served as the Cowgirls' sixth player this past season, coming off the bench in every game and averaging 12.8 points, 5.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per night.
A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Wooten led the Big 12 and ranked 12th nationally with a 2.5 assist to turnover ratio. Her assist per game average was the fifth-highest of any Big 12 player while she tallied the second-most points of any full-time reserve in the conference.
Wooten will arrive in Fort Worth as a junior and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
By embracing the sixth player role, Wooten perhaps flew under the national media radar but was in elite company among all Division I guards. She concluded the 2025-26 campaign as one of 10 players to average at least 12 points, five assists and three rebounds per game. Wooten also shot 49 percent from the floor, joining TCU's Olivia Miles and All-Big Ten guard Katie Fiso (Oregon) as one of only three players in the country to put up the stat line.
Wooten closed out her career as a Cowgirl by earning All-Big 12 honorable mention accolades. She was a Big 12 All-Freshman team honoree in 2024-25.
With Wooten in tow, Oklahoma State reached the NCAA Tournament in both of her seasons in Stillwater. Wooten helped lead the Cowgirls to a 24-10 overall record and fourth place finish in the Big 12 in March.
Oklahoma State averaged 81 points and more than 17 assists per game last year with Wooten as the catalyst. Wooten dished out at least seven assists in 13 games, tied for the 15th most of any D1 hooper, and finished as the Cowgirls' assists leader 21 times. Wooten dished out 177 dimes and capped her sophomore campaign as one of seven players in college basketball to post an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.5 or better on at least 170 assists. She led the Cowgirls in assists in both 2024-25 and 2025-26.
For her career, Wooten has 23 games with at least five assists to her name. She sports a career 2-1 assist to turnover ratio.
Wooten's offensive efficiency took a noticeable uptick in 2025-26. She increased her field goal percentage by 12 points even as her shot attempts more than doubled from her freshman season. Her 49 percent clip topped all Big 12 guards and was fourth among all players in the league. Wooten was the Cowgirls' second leading scorer and reached double figures on 25 occasions.
She often was in peak form against the best competition. Wooten scored 18 points in both of the Cowgirls' NCAA Tournament tilts, including their second round battle with eventual national champion UCLA.
Wooten scored 25 points – her second most in a game and a career high in Big 12 play – and shot 10-19 from the field vs. TCU on Jan. 7 in her first visit to Fort Worth. She tallied a career-best 26 points opposite Miami on Nov. 29.
Her first career double-double arrived one week later, as Wooten paired a career-high 13 assists with 12 points in a victory against Mississippi Valley State.
A consensus four-star recruit in the class of 2024, Wooten enjoyed a decorated prep career at Blue Valley High School. Wooten was named the 2024 Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 19.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 2.5 steals per game as a senior. She was a two-time recipient of Eastern Kansas League MVP honors. Wooten graduated as Blue Valley's school record holder for career points (1,680), rebounds (514), assists (448) and steals (222).
Wooten is the third transfer player TCU has landed during the portal window, joining backcourt mate Lanie Grant and forward Lara Somfai.
