Alissa Schenk is in her second season as an assistant athletic trainer at TCU.
Schenk joined the TCU staff in July 2020 and is the primary athletic trainer for the women’s basketball and women’s golf teams.
A native of Saint Philip, Ind., Schenk makes her way to Fort Worth following a two-year stint with the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. Prior to working with the Aces, Schenk was an athletic trainer at Florida Atlantic where she worked with the track and field/cross country and football teams.
Schenk worked as the head athletic trainer at Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, Fla., from 2016-17, and then worked at Syracuse with the women’s volleyball team in 2017.
Schenk graduated from Purdue in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Kinesiology, with a concentration in athletic training. As a student at Purdue, she studied abroad in Beijing, China, where she learned traditional Chinese medicinal techniques including acupuncture, cupping, and massage. Upon graduation from Purdue she then went on to earn her Master’s degree in medical sciences with a concentration in athletic training from South Florida in 2016.
