2025-26 | JUNIOR SEASON
Played in all 35 games and made one start… Averaged 7.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game… Made a season-high 25 points against Saint Francis (11/6/25) which included a season-high four made 3-pointers on five attempts… Had 11 games in double figures, including two games of 20 or more points… Scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds against No. 1 Arizona (1/10/26)… Recorded one double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds against Iowa State (2/10/26), which included a season-high 10 made free throws on 15 attempts… Went over 1,000 career points at Kansas State (2/28/26)… Had 19 points and seven rebounds in the second round of the Big 12 Tournament against Oklahoma State (3/11/26)… Made only start of the season against Florida A&M (12/21/26).
2024-25 | SOPHOMORE SEASON (UTAH VALLEY)
Averaged 13.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists while starting all 34 games… Shot 45.3 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from three-point range and 79.2 percent from the free throw line… Led Utah Valley to an outright WAC regular season championship and a postseason appearance in the NIT... Named Second Team All-WAC... Named to WAC All-Tournament team... Named WAC Player of the Week on Jan. 21... Ranked third in the WAC in 3-pointers made (66)... Earned All-4A Greater St. Helens League First Team honors... Was the 2020 GSHL Player of the Year... Helped UHS to 2019 and 2020 league and region titles... Born Jan. 3, 2002… Married to Lauren Roberts in May in Payson, Utah… Lauren works as a registered nurse at Cook Children’s in Fort Worth… Son of Holly and Andy Toolson… Has one sister, Taryn, who was on the swim team at BYU... Has four brothers, Dallin, Conner, Trevor and Drew... Is the second youngest of the six Toolson children… Was the fourth Toolson to play for Utah Valley, included brother, Conner Toolson (2016-19), cousin, Ryan Toolson (2003-04, 06-09) and Jake Toolson (2017-19)... Connor played professionally overseas for two years… Tanner’s father, Andy, enjoyed a 10-year professional career that included a pair of seasons with the Utah Jazz after playing at BYU... Andy served as an assistant coach at BYU (2001-05)… Has played basketball his entire life, inspired by his brothers… Favorite player is Steph Curry… Favorite basketball moment was wearing his teammates jersey in a state playoff game in high school after he tore his ACL mid-season… Pregame routine includes putting on and tying his shoes on the court, never in the locker room… Used to wear jersey No. 5 but now wears No. 55 because everything is bigger in Texas… Models his game after Buddy Hield, Christian Braun, Alex Caruso and Zach Lavine… Also played soccer growing up but quit in ninth grade to focus on basketball… When not playing basketball, enjoys golfing, playing soccer and spending time with wife, friends and family… Served a church mission in Jacksonville, Fla… When playing career is over, wants to be a physician’s assistant, eventually owning his own practice and work alongside his wife… Majoring in general studies.
